There's something you've been putting off.
Not because you don't care about it.
Because some part of you keeps making sure it doesn't happen.
That's not laziness.
That's protection.
Today we're going to look at that part.
Not to fight it.
Just to understand it.
Sit down.
Feet flat.
Close your eyes.
Breathe in slowly through your nose.
Long exhale through your mouth.
Again.
Breath in.
Breath out.
Feel your weight in the seat.
Feel your feet on the floor.
You're safe here.
Nothing needs to change right now.
We're just looking.
Think of one thing you keep avoiding.
Hold it in mind.
Now feel what happens in your body when you think about actually doing it.
Where does the resistance live in your body?
Stay there.
Don't move away from it.
See,
Avoidance isn't weakness.
It's a strategy that worked once.
When moving forward felt too exposed.
Too uncertain.
Too risky.
So the system learned to pull back.
To stay comfortable.
To stay safe.
What does the part of you that pulls back think will happen if you move forward?
Let that answer come.
It might surprise you.
Failure.
Rejection.
Being seen.
And found wanting.
Just notice what's there.
Take a breath.
That part of you that pulls back.
It's not your enemy.
It's been trying to protect you.
The question is,
From what?
Is what it's protecting you from still a real threat or an old one?
Sit with that.
You don't need to force anything today.
Just knowing the difference.
That's already a shift.
One last breath.
Breath in.
Breath out.
The part of you that pulls back has kept you safe.
But you're not who you were when it learned to do that.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes and carry that with you.
