Hello,
My friend.
Welcome to your meditation.
My name is Stephen Dalton,
And it's my great privilege to meditate with you today.
You find me today in a very special forest in Transylvania.
And it's a new day.
And there's something wonderful about that,
Isn't there?
A new chance to begin.
To step into this morning just as you are.
Not needing to rush.
Not needing to fix.
Just arriving into the day with presence.
So if you want to,
You can close your eyes now.
Or you can let them stay open and look at the lovely forest I'm sitting in.
Or something else.
And feel the contact points.
Your seat.
Your back.
Your feet.
Feel how the gravity holds you.
How our home,
This planet,
The Earth,
Keeps you grounded.
And now,
Take a long breath in through the nose.
And when you're ready,
Gently exhale through the mouth.
Let's stay with the breath for a minute.
Just breathing.
Nothing fancy.
Nothing to get right.
Just the inhale.
And the exhale.
And if your thoughts are already racing ahead into the day,
That's completely fine.
You're not doing anything wrong.
But just notice them for what they are.
Thoughts.
And come back to the breath.
Now I'm going to speak some simple affirmations.
And if they feel right to you,
Let them settle.
You don't have to repeat them.
But you can if you want.
Or you can just listen.
And you can let them become part of your morning routine.
So here we go.
This day is new.
And so am I.
I meet this morning and this day with openness.
I carry calm within me,
Even if the day is busy.
I am allowed to feel joy.
I am grounded,
Awake and ready to begin.
I am allowed to begin again,
No matter what yesterday looked like.
There is nothing I need to prove to be worthy of love today.
The small,
Quiet moments of my day are just as meaningful as the big ones.
I bring value simply by showing up as myself.
Even when life is uncertain,
I can still choose kindness.
I don't have to do everything.
I just have to do the next right thing.
My presence is a gift to the people who care about me.
I am not behind.
I am exactly where I need to be.
I can meet today with softness,
Not pressure.
My needs matter,
And it's okay to take care of them.
I belong in this world,
Just as I am.
Today,
I will give myself the same compassion I offer to others.
Today is a new page,
And I get to write it with care and intention.
Now let's move back to the breath,
Where you can choose to listen to me.
Listen to the sounds around you,
Or around me,
And let those affirmations settle in.
I will leave you with a short line from Maya Angelou.
This is a wonderful day.
I've never seen this one before.
So,
Take one more deep breath in.
Feel the aliveness in your body,
And savor this opportunity for a new day right here on planet Earth.
You've done really well this morning.
