I invite you to find a comfortable seat,
Feeling your feet grounded against the floor.
If you feel comfortable doing so,
I invite you to close your eyes and take a few deep breaths in and out,
Focusing on the sensations in your body.
Notice where you find tension,
And with every inhale,
Acknowledge it.
With every exhale,
Let it go.
Imagine that you're standing on a dirt road with soft grass and tall trees lining both sides.
The rising sun shines warmly on your skin,
And a quiet breeze brushes against your face.
Birds chirp up above,
And you can hear the rustle of leaves as the wind weaves in and out between the branches.
You take a deep breath in,
Then begin to take slow,
Purposeful steps down the road.
As you move forward,
You notice the vibrant reds and oranges of the leaves as they fall gradually onto the road around you.
They are not rushed,
They have nowhere to be.
A smile comes to your lips.
Nothing to do,
Nowhere to be.
Nothing to do,
Nowhere to be.
The further you move down the road,
The more that smile grows.
There doesn't seem to be an end to this road.
Rather,
It continues to wind on as far as you can see.
As you walk,
You become aware of a quiet,
Gentle presence walking beside you.
You realize they've been walking beside you for some time.
After walking together for a bit more time,
You notice that you've matched your pace with theirs.
It's slow,
And as you look back at the road behind you,
You notice that you haven't moved that much further down the road.
The person beside you smiles,
Then gently guides your gaze back in front of you.
Nothing to do,
Nowhere to be.
Nothing to do,
Nowhere to be.
After what feels like hours of walking,
Soaking in the light,
The rustling of the trees,
And the sweet smell of grass,
The road comes to an end.
You find yourself standing in front of your home,
Filled with peace and contentment.
This time,
As you look back at the road behind you,
You realize that although they moved slowly,
The person walking beside you led you forward to where you needed to be.
There was no rush,
No pressure,
Just simply trust in the path.
Nothing to do,
Nowhere to be.
Nothing to do,
Nowhere to be.
On your next inhale,
I invite you to bring your awareness back into your body,
Back into this space.
Notice how you feel now as to when you first started.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes,
Continue forward with your day.
