You are in it.
The brake lights,
The crowded platform,
The slow-moving line,
The train that isn't moving fast enough.
Rush Hour has its own heartbeat,
Fast,
Loud,
And impatient,
But you don't have to match it.
Take a breath now in through your nose.
Just a nice,
Steady,
Slow breath.
Exhale slowly through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale,
Feeling the air move all the way down into your belly,
And then exhale,
Letting your shoulders drop.
Keep this attention on your breath.
Feeling the air move in,
Feeling the air move out.
Notice your hands.
Are they gripping the steering wheel?
Clutching your back?
Holding tension without you realizing?
Let your fingers soften.
Notice your jaw,
Your forehead,
Your neck.
If you've been bracing against the pace of the world,
You can stop now.
The traffic may still crawl,
The train may still pause,
The delay may still exist,
But your nervous system does not have to stay in alarm.
Feel your feet,
Whether they're planted on the floor of a car or balancing gently on a moving train.
There is ground beneath you.
There is support beneath you.
You are steady.
With each inhale,
Imagine creating space inside your chest.
With each exhale,
Release the urge to rush this moment away.
Rush hour is temporary.
This red light will turn green.
This train or bus will move.
This line will shorten.
The universe is not behind schedule.
You are allowed to arrive calm.
You are allowed to move without internal chaos.
You are allowed to let this be exactly what it is.
Listen to the sounds around you,
Without labeling them as good or bad.
Engines hum,
Voices murmur,
Announcements echo.
It's just movement.
It's just life unfolding.
Inhale patience.
Exhale frustration.
Inhale steadiness.
Exhale resistance.
As your breathing finds a natural rhythm,
Notice a shift.
Your heart rate softens.
Your thoughts slow.
Your body loosens.
The world may still be moving fast,
But you are not.
Take one final breath in,
And as you exhale,
Feel gratitude for this small pocket of a reset in the middle of a busy day.
Namaste,
Beautiful.
