Hi there and welcome.

I like writing stories about a village of animal friends who each have a special strength.

Something that not only makes them special,

But also very happy.

As you listen to today's story,

See if you can spot Percy's strength.

Percy the Prudent Pup Percy is a pup,

A very prudent pup.

That means that he thinks carefully before he does something.

Percy always plans ahead.

He lives in an orange house with a pink roof on the corner of Pearl and Pleasant Street.

On Friday morning,

Percy wakes up at 7 o'clock.

He washes his face and brushes his teeth.

After that,

He combs his fur.

It's a sunny day,

So Percy puts on a bright yellow bow tie.

Percy loves spending time with his friends.

His favourite thing to do is to host dinner parties for his friends.

This morning,

Percy is planning a dinner party for Saturday evening.

He wants to invite two friends,

But who should he invite?

Should he invite Pat the Cat and Perry the Parrot?

Oh,

No,

He can't do that.

That would be a disaster.

Should he invite Bully the Bulldog and Pat the Cat?

Oh,

No,

No,

No,

He can't do that.

That would be a disaster.

Percy thinks carefully,

As prudent pups are prone to do.

Percy writes down his friends' names on a piece of paper.

Percy stares at the paper and makes some notes.

Hmm,

These two would work.

Those two could get along,

But no,

No,

Not those two.

In the end,

Percy invited Penny Peacock and Perry the Parrot for lunch.

The two birds got along very well.

They talked and chatted all afternoon.

He invited Pat the Cat and Poppy the Panda to dinner.

After dinner,

They played board games and had a lot of fun.

Percy invited Bully Bulldog for a game of fetch at the park on Sunday morning.

They had a lovely time out in the fresh air.

Percy managed to avoid some horrible problems by thinking carefully and planning ahead.
