Welcome to this episode of Sacred Spaces and the Spring Equinox.
Today we celebrate the Spring Equinox,
A time when day and night are in perfect balance,
Marking the transition into a new season.
The equinox typically occurs near or close to the full moon and with it heralding spring,
A season of new beginnings and illumination.
The days grow longer and the air begins to warm,
The earth reawakens from her winter slumber,
The spring equinox is a reminder to us all that like the earth as she emerges into the wonder and beauty of new beginnings,
We too are emerging from the shadows of winter and into the light of longer days and the gentle warmth of the spring sunshine.
As the ice and snow begin to melt and streams and rivers again begin to flow,
The earth comes to life,
The trees begin to blossom,
The grass begins to grow and the early flowers of spring break free as they begin to bloom.
It is the time of the planting season,
Of renewal,
Of rebirth and the new life signalling the awakening of the abundance that the earth has to offer.
In this space of solitude and connection with the earth's mother,
This is a time for reflection and intention setting for the months and the new cycle to come.
It is a time to connect with the rhythms of the natural world and align our energies with growth,
Transformation and renewal.
We are reminded of our interconnectedness to all living things and the importance of honouring them.
And so to the meditation,
Sit back and relax or find a comfortable position to lie,
Spine straightened.
Close your eyes and surround yourself in your own sacred space.
You are safe and protected on every level of expression as you connect with the world of spirit.
Gently allow your eyes to soften.
Take a deep breath in to centre yourself.
Inhale deeply through your nose,
Feeling your abdomen expand as you fill your lungs with air.
Hold that breath and exhale slowly releasing your breath completely through your mouth.
And as you do so,
Let go of any and all tension that you may be holding in your body,
Stress that you may be feeling.
Bring your awareness again to your in-breath.
Notice the sensation of the air flowing in and out of your nostrils and mouth,
The coolness of the inhalation,
The warmth of the exhalation.
And as you continue to breathe deeply and naturally,
Allow your attention to rest on the rise and the fall of your chest and abdomen.
As your relaxation deepens,
Bring your awareness to the energy of the spring equinox,
A time when day and night are in perfect balance.
Feel the gentle warmth of the sun on your skin and the earth too,
As she awakens from her winter slumber.
The energies of new beginnings begin to stir within you as they do with her.
You now turn your attention to the full moon,
The softening of the earth.
What seeds do you wish to sow in the upcoming season of rebirth,
Renewal and preparation for the inner growth cycle to come?
Imagine now that you are surrounded by the vivid colors of spring,
The earth coming alive,
The pinks of new blossoms,
The vivid yellow greens of the new grasses.
Connect now too with the trees as they awaken,
As they feel a sense of renewal and vitality,
As the sap within them begins to flow through their veins.
And as you continue to breathe deeply,
You allow your awareness to expand outward,
Connecting with the wonder of this natural world around you.
You wander into a meadow,
Embracing the incredible energies of these new blossoms,
Of the new grasses and new flowers that are starting to emerge,
Becoming one with you.
As you deeply connect with this natural world around you,
You find a space to sit or to lie upon the surface of the earth,
Connecting deeply with her energy.
Notice around you the signs of spring that are unfolding,
The chirping of the birds in their joyful song of rejuvenation,
Your sense of smell picking up on the scent of the blossoming flowers.
The gentle rustle of the new leaves in the breeze as the sun gently touches your face.
With each breath,
Feel yourself aligning with the energies of the spring equinox,
Embracing the spirit of rebirth and transformation.
And just as the earth is awakening,
So too you are awakening to the infinite possibilities of this new season.
Take a moment now to reflect on what seeds you would like to sow,
To cultivate and manifest in your life during this time of renewal.
Focus on your intentions,
Those that you wish to set with clarity and purpose,
Knowing that the energy of the spring equinox will support you on your journey.
Bask in these energies,
In the light of the spring sunshine and the glow of the full moon,
As both sun and moon are visible in the sky above you.
Allow their energies to infuse you with a vitality and inspiration.
Feel and know from your center,
Your inner being,
That sense of deep gratitude for the abundance of the natural world and the opportunity to align with its cycles of growth and transformation and new beginnings.
Reflect on the seeds you are wanting to sow,
To nurture,
Into being in these energies of abundance and endless possibility.
Allow your heart,
Mind and soul to awaken you to the infinite source of blessings of this season of renewal and rejuvenation.
And when you are ready,
Retrace your steps,
Leaving the meadow,
Giving thanks to Mother Earth,
To the wonder and beauty of this season of newness.
Gently open your eyes,
Return your awareness to the present moment,
Wiggle a finger and a toe,
Bring yourself back into your body,
Knowing again that you are safe,
That you are protected,
That your aura is a comfortable circumference from your body.
Carry with you,
As you move out into your day,
The energies of renewal and the promise of new beginnings,
Of hope,
The love and the light of spring,
In perfect balance.
Know too,
That you are supported and guided by the wisdom of nature,
The cycles of the earth,
The cycles of life,
As you step forward into you and your new beginning.
Blessings be to you,
Beloved soul,
As you embrace the energies of renewal,
Of transformation,
Of intention and of a deliberate cycle of the rightness of your journey and the path that you walk.
Say love it is,
As we have decreed it to be.
