**Note: Truth does not always sound pleasant. If the mind is not really peaceful now, it might not be a perfect moment to listen to this podcast, one has to be aware of the emotions or reactions that can block one from listenING ATTENTIVELY and with HUMILITY. This talk is a meditation practice. What one needs to do is listen attentively, without getting stuck in words, examine the mind in silence, no agree or disagree, just look at the mind as it is. Doing so is already a meditation practice.

Transcript

The mind keeps generating all kinds of images.

The human mind over-relies on the image,

On the visual system.

And we have way too many images,

Don't we?

Language,

The older symbols,

And the combination of the symbols are images.

The pronunciation is also image.

Not only the visual one,

But also what we hear.

Any symbols,

Pictures,

Anything we can imagine,

Which might have sound,

Imagined sound,

Smell,

They are all images.

Of course,

We have to redefine the word image here,

Pointing to anything that can be imaginable,

From the mind.

Such a mind relies on the image so much.

The human world is full of all kinds of words,

In terms of opinions,

Conclusions,

Views,

Ideas.

Nowadays,

The culture,

Everything we are doing,

Is so reliant on the words,

On the verbal things,

Which are all images.

The mind relies on the reaction to these symbols,

Words.

When the mind hears or sees the words,

The images are also triggered by those images.

Layers and layers.

Thoughts are also carried by those words' symbols.

And thoughts are also images in that regard.

So the mind is trapped in this incessant flow of images,

In the culture,

In the society,

In the civilization.
