Cindy Palos and I wanted to talk about the power of prayer in context to what's going on with the world.
I follow the news,
I also follow what people are posting,
Mainly Facebook,
Some Twitter,
And every day I'm seeing people going through some challenging things that they're asking for prayers.
And you see that prayer sign,
It's so easy just to click the prayer sign.
Sometimes people will put six prayers,
Seven prayer signs down.
It's like,
Okay.
And I think that's all good,
But I always go back to,
Are people really taking the time to stop and pray?
Now I understand that the majority of people are very busy and they just want to send good energy to the person,
So they put a prayer sign down there.
But for a prayer to be effective,
It's really best to stop and not do a lot of other things like scrolling on to the next post,
And the next post,
And the next post,
You know,
Until the next prayer signs come up.
It's really good to take the time to pray and then even after you take the time to pray,
It's really important to understand that there is a power in prayers.
But it's not you sending the direct energy yourself to that person in a prayer.
The power of a prayer is taking that prayer and sending and asking God to help,
To direct that energy God has to the person.
The intervention there is so very important,
And I don't think it takes much to figure out why.
Obviously,
If God can help in a prayer,
I mean,
That's gonna be more effective than you just doing a prayer sign,
Unless you think you have the same power as God,
And you might,
You know,
In your mind at least.
But the thing is that we don't know what's really the best for that person.
And the thing is also beyond that,
When you pray,
There are certain things that really are valuable to include in the prayer.
And mainly,
I'd like to add,
After the prayer,
To say thank you.
How many of you say a prayer and say thank you,
God,
After the end of a prayer?
It's so valuable to say thank you.
Thank you,
God.
It kind of seals it,
And that sealing of it is so important.
And then you release it.
You release it into the hands of God,
So you're not carrying that around.
And if you do a prayer like that,
You don't have to do it seven times or eight times.
If you really believe that you're asking God to take over,
Why would you repeat it and repeat it unless you were doubting that that energy went to God the way you did it?
But if you really do it with that sense of direct communication and prayer to God,
And releasing the prayer to God,
And thanking God for the prayer,
You can release it and let it be and let it go.
Now,
There's,
Here's the thing,
Here's the rub.
You can't always control the outcome of the prayer,
Obviously.
We don't know what's really best for any soul or any person,
And things don't always go in the way that we would ask in prayer.
I mean,
It's,
It's beyond.
I was just holding on to the reins of his saddle,
And I,
You know,
That part that holds your feet there,
I was literally holding on that and kind of crawling back.
And it turned out that it was so bad that I had to go into the hospital for five days,
And they couldn't find out why I'd broken a couple of ribs,
And they couldn't stop the liquid draining out of my lungs.
But it turned out,
When they operated,
That there was a tumor in the exact spot,
The exact spot,
That I had broken my rib.
There was a tumor I never would have known about.
I never would have guessed I had a tumor.
I didn't feel different.
I didn't know anything about it,
But it was a fairly large tumor in my lung,
And they had to take out,
It was over a quarter of my lung.
But it probably saved my life,
And so I was really grateful.
I was very grateful that my horse threw me,
And I made sure I told him,
Thank you.
We did,
I couldn't have guessed that.
I mean,
Who could orchestrate something like that,
You know?
And I've seen this happen time and time again.
But it's,
The thing is that it's nice to have that kind of proof,
And that kind of miracle.
We don't always get it,
But believe me,
There are miracles that happen every day.
I love that song from Flower Drum Song,
A hundred,
A hundred million miracles are happening every day.
So prayer is beautiful,
And we don't always get the exact outcome that we pray for.
And it's always best to ask,
Always best to ask for God to do whatever the best is for that person.
The highest good,
The highest good is a beautiful thing to pray for.
Praying for the highest good,
And holding that energy in the prayer,
In the light as you send it.
Praying for the highest good of that person,
Because the highest good is really valuable to have for that person.
And I know we all don't have time for every single prayer request,
But you can do a few at a time when you're going into meditation,
And you're doing your prayers.
I mean,
Sometimes I have more than one,
You probably do too.
And it's always good,
I do at night before I go to sleep,
I send prayer energy.
Do you send prayer energy to your family?
I do to my family,
Some of my close friends that have asked for a little extra prayers,
I include them in my prayers at night.
And you know,
It's interesting,
Some of those old prayers still work.
I mean,
I remember now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
I still remember that,
I mean,
How do I remember that?
I learned that when I was like six years old,
Maybe five years old.
I'd say it every day,
Maybe even younger.
So it's good to have that connection,
To get clear of your own control,
And to be able to release whatever is going on into a prayer.
Now,
I include a prayer time as well every day when I meditate.
I get up early and meditate at four o'clock,
And I meditate for an hour.
And then I have a little prayer time at the end,
And I do the Aramaic version of the Lord's Prayer.
There's a certain power,
Of course,
In the traditional Lord's Prayer,
Because it's been used for so many years by so many people.
I totally respect it,
But the Aramaic version is very different than the regular prayer,
The Lord's Prayer,
That most people say.
And I've written and spoken a lot about the Aramaic version,
But it's so powerful.
I make sure that I include that when I do my prayers at night,
And my meditations as well,
Because it works for me to connect to the Source.
It's a powerful thing,
You know,
To be able to connect in that way.
And it is interesting that,
Indeed,
I do believe that there is a power from the Father and Mother of the universe,
That shimmering light of all,
That beautiful energy that we can connect with,
That then helps guide us,
Helps give us the positive energy we need to overcome some of the challenging times,
Some of the negative things,
Some of the things that happen in the world.
When you have that connection,
You will feel a burden being lifted off you.
I always feel a little more inspired,
You know,
That spirit,
The in-spirit,
Being in-spirit is so precious and so powerful,
That when you take the time to do that,
You're kind of sealing the deal,
You know,
You're kind of going,
You know,
You're setting the tone,
You know,
You're setting the tone for your energy for the morning when you wake up and when you go to sleep at night.
And there is a tone,
There's a tone in every single word,
There's a tone in every prayer,
There's a tone that is your tone,
There's an energy field in the sound of every voice that's unique to you.
And that tone and that prayer connected to the highest energy source is so very powerful and beautiful,
It's mystical and it's beyond understanding and definition.
It's,
To me,
It's just unbelievable how powerful our voice,
Our tone,
Our energy,
Our prayers,
The source of all of that and the way we all have our own energy to pray with is so beautiful.
So,
All I want to say is just take the time,
When you see a request for a prayer,
Take the time to really stop and go within and pray and meditate,
If you feel,
Also to get to that place,
To send that energy,
To really,
Really be someone who is a light worker,
A prayer worker,
A servant of the highest that can really do some good in ways you may never know,
In ways you probably will never see,
But you still need to believe that that energy and doing that wonderful work is so valuable and so important and comes back in so many blessed ways you may never realize.
And I thank you.
