Tucker & Leo Go Fishing

It's time to relax.

The funniest thing was happening.

Tucker and Leo had gone fishing.

Yeah,

Fishing.

Dogs going fishing.

Probably never seen it before.

But Tucker and Leo had gone fishing with their Uncle Sam.

Uncle Sam was a big fisherman.

He fished all the time.

He fished on lakes,

He fished in the ocean,

He fished on little ponds.

He was fishing since he was a little boy and now he was grey and old and still fishing.

Uncle Sam had decided to take Leo and Tucker fishing.

Tucker was extremely excited about it.

Leo was not.

Leo said,

This is not right.

When have you ever seen a dog go after a fish?

I can understand.

If I was a cat,

Then maybe I'd want to go fishing.

But I'm not a cat.

I'm a dog.

And yes,

I do like to eat fish,

Just like cats do.

I don't like to catch them.

They're slimy and they're actually animals and I don't think I want to look in the eyes of an animal while I'm catching it.

I think that would make me very,

Very sad,

Nervous,

Skittish and I think I might come out in hives.

Tucker said,

Oh,

Leo,

Leo,

You're worrying about it before we've even got there.

Just chill yourself out.

It'll be all right,

Leo,

We're going to have so much fun.

We're going to go in a boat with Uncle Sam and we're going to be able to catch fish with his mouth.

And we're going to be able to like shake his head and shake the fish and like catch him and maybe eat them in the boat.

And we're gonna be able to like catch big fish and small fish and round fish and square fish.

" Leo said,

Tucker,

There isn't square fish.

But you know what I mean,

Leo,

Just chill out about it.

It's gonna be so much fun.

We're gonna have so much fun.

The car ride was very long.

Leo was not happy about that either.

You know I don't like being in the car.

You know how I got my head stuck in the window that time and since then I've never liked being in the car.

Tucker said oh I like being in the car.

I like to run to this side and stick my head out a window and then I like to run to that side and stick my head out the window and then I like to run back and stick my head out the window and then I like to try and get on on whoever's driving's knee because that's always funny and then I like to bark at other people in cars and then I really really like to bark at other dogs in cars and then I like to bark at kids in cars.

I like to bark at everybody in cars,

I like to just stick my head out the window and bark on my way past and stop everybody on street and they look and they go who's that dog barking and I say it's me it's Tucker I'm going on a car ride Leo just put one of his paws over his eyes oh I really don't like the car are we gonna be there soon Tucker said I don't care I don't mind how long it takes I'm having so much fun running from this side to this side to this side to this side to this side to this side I could just go on and on and on and on all day long it's so much fun Leo laid down on the back seat decided to just put his paw over his eyes and hopefully they would be there soon when they got there it was a really nice pond it was really really big there was lots of long grass and trees nice places to run around he did like the idea of that they jumped out of the back of the car Uncle Sam said okay go explore explore said Leo who knows what I'll find I might find poison ivy I might find a beehive I might find like a hole that my paw could get stuck in Tucker said let's explore Leo let's explore let's just run around we can run in that long grass look at that long grass there's a whole big massive field of long grass there's gonna be mice's there's gonna be there's gonna be maybe snakes there's gonna be all sorts of stuff in that long grass Leo said oh my golly I am not going in the long grass I'll just sit here in the sunshine and wait for you Tucker said right go on then Leo you do that and I'm gonna go run in this grass I'm gonna go run fast fast fast really fast fast fast fast as fast as I can I'm gonna go run really really really fast and even if there's mice and even if there's snakes they won't catch me because I'll be running fast fast fast so fast that you know no one will catch me the wind can't catch me the sun can't catch me nothing can catch me because I'm so fast when I'm free and I'm not on my lead thank goodness Uncle Sam's not a put us on a lead because I can just run and explore I'll be back I'll be back soon Tucker was off running faster than ever through all the long grass which made Leo just panic thinking about it snakes they could possibly definitely be snakes they could possibly be those little mouse or rats or something running around in there oh the sound of it just is oh it's just too much to bear Leo decided to stare out at the water the water was calming there is just a gentle movement across the water that was it that is that's okay I can deal with this he thought within about 10 minutes Tucker was back panting oh my goodness that was so much fun Leo you should have come with me that was so much fun I didn't see anything except grass but it was really fun just running really fast fast fast fast fast through the grass push push push push push with my head through the grass it was so much fun now I'm ready to catch fish are we ready to go and catch fish can we go catch fish now and he was running around in circles around Uncle Sam so that Uncle Sam made sure that Tucker knew that it was time to go catch fish they all got in the boat Uncle Sam had a hold of the paddles and he was paddling them out to the middle of the water Leo did not like it at all he was shaking he was so frightened what if I fall in what if I fall in and I can't get back in the boat what if I fall in and there's big fish in there that bite me what if I fall in and and there's leaves and weeds and reeds that could grab a hold of my paws and pull me down and what if I fall in and I but Tucker said Leo just chillax chillax Leo you're just taking everything far too serious you're just stressing yourself out about absolutely nothing that's not even happened yet you haven't even fell in the water and you're thinking about how you're going to be drowning in the water and how you're going to get eaten by those big fish that I can't wait to eat I can't wait to eat them I'm going to catch them with my mouth I'm going to catch them I'm going to I'm going to shake them I'm going to catch them I'm going to shake them Uncle Sam caught a fish a big fish he pulled it up into the boat with the net and put it down at the bottom of the boat Tucker was trying to pounce on it with his paws and then the fish looked up at Tucker and Tucker had a moment a moment where he connected to another animal a moment where he realized it probably wouldn't be very nice if he ate the fish the fish had big big eyes and they looked very sad and its mouth kept popping open as if it was trying to breathe Tucker looked at Leo and Leo looked at Tucker and Tucker said oh oh oh I wasn't expecting that oh oh Leo I don't like it that poor little fish oh what should we do as soon as Uncle Sam wasn't looking Tucker grabbed a hold of the fish with his mouth and threw it back in the water Uncle Sam said Tucker what on earth are you doing you just threw my fish back in the water Tucker just looked at him and barked Leo said Tucker what do we do I don't like fishing I don't like it at all I don't mind eating fish when I don't see what fish look like when they're alive but now I've seen a fish and it's alive and its eyes looked at me and I had a moment where I connected to that fish I don't think I can eat them oh Leo this is awful Leo said every time Uncle Sam catches a fish we'll just throw it back in and then he'll get the message and he'll take us back to shore and take us home and he won't ever bring us fishing again Tucker said oh it's a plan it's a plan let's do it the next five fish either Tucker or Leo threw them back in the water Uncle Sam didn't get mad because he's a very nice uncle but he did start to realize that the dogs didn't like fishing he took them back to the shore took them back to the car and they went home Tucker was very sad that night Leo had to talk him up it's okay he said Leo don't worry about it Tucker said oh fishing I'm never fishing again it was awful I really didn't like it I thought I'd like it I really did like it that poor fish every time he pulled one out at water they looked like they couldn't breathe and they were just staring at us it was awful so glad that we got to throw them back in the water poor fishes oh golly I never want to see what food looks like again I think I'd rather just see it in a bag and not think about it I don't ever want to see it again no fishes no cows no nothing it was really really sad Leo said I know what how about we just get on our bed and snuggle and forget all about our day luckily I didn't get hives I didn't come out in a rash everything's all right there Tucker said oh thank goodness I don't think I could cope up Leo said let's just close his eyes Tucker let's just relax forget all about it we'll never go fishing again don't worry oh said Tucker closed his eyes got comfortable on their big comfy dot beds and they managed to forget all about fishing relax their bodies and eventually fall fast asleep not thinking about fishing those poor fishes
