This is a revered Sanskrit chant composed by Adi Shankara over a thousand years ago. It is a devotional prayer to Goddess Bhavani, a fierce and compassionate form of the Divine Mother, often associated with Parvati, Durga, or Shakti. The slow, mesmerising delivery of the chanted Sanskrit words brings a settledness to the mind, and the cinematic soundscape featuring Indian bamboo flute, zither, and low percussion creates an other-worldly effect for eyes-closed meditation and/or prayer. Production, arrangement, all instruments, and sound engineering by Craig Pruess with chanting by Urmila Devi Goenka. Inspired and guided by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living.
