Hello and thank you for joining me.
Let's begin our practice by closing down the eyes and turning your gaze inwards,
Taking this moment to truly arrive.
You might like to bring a sense of gratitude for this very moment in your life,
Everything that has brought you to this point.
Now bringing your awareness to your breath,
Begin to take some deeper breaths,
Feel your body expanding on the inhale and a feeling of softening and surrendering as you exhale.
Now imagine yourself in a safe,
Comfortable place.
You might be sitting in a cozy cottage next to a fireplace,
Or a peaceful beach with the warm sunlight on your skin and a cool breeze brushing against your face.
Or it could be an imaginary place like amidst the stars.
Whatever that is for you,
You feel a profound sense of peace.
Soon you'll receive a visitor,
A special friend,
One who is wise beyond the years,
Embodies a strength that has an element of confidence coupled with gentleness and offers unconditional love towards you.
It could be an ancestor,
A spiritual teacher or a guide,
Or they may not have a form like a warm white light.
This being wishes for you to be happy,
Safe and free from suffering.
You might like to invite your special friend into your safe space.
Notice what this feels like to be in their presence.
Your friend knows you very well,
From your innermost thoughts,
Dreams,
Desires and fears.
And your friend has a message for you,
Something that is what you need to hear right now.
Please take a moment and listen carefully to what your special friend has to offer.
If no words arise,
That's okay.
Just sit quietly with this being,
For this is a moment of gratitude in itself.
Take a moment to connect with your heart and see if you'd like to say something to your special friend.
This friend listens deeply and understands you.
Is there something you would like to share?
Soon your friend will be leaving again.
But before that happens,
They would like to give you a gift,
A material object.
This object will simply appear in your hands.
You may wish to place your hands out and receive that gift.
What is it?
Does it have a special meaning to you?
Enjoy your friend's presence for the last few moments,
Offering thanks for the visit.
Now bidding your friend farewell,
You are now alone again in your safe space.
Allow yourself to savor what just happened,
Perhaps reflecting on the words or the object that was given to you.
Before this meditation comes to a close,
Remember that your special friend is a part of you.
The presence you felt and the words you heard are the deepest parts of yourself.
Compassion and wisdom are always available,
Especially when you need them most.
You can invite your special friend back anytime you wish.
This is the power of connecting to your heart space.
Now take a few deeper breaths once again.
When you are ready,
You may gently blink open the eyes.
You might wish to raise the corners of your lips into a gentle smile as you continue your day or evening.
