(Wk 4) Life Purpose Part 5 Of 5 - Unleash Your Peace
by Ellie Shoja
Is vulnerability your greatest strength? On the fifth and final day of our topic this week, Life Purpose, I share a personal story that demonstrates all the ways we fight ourselves when we feel too exposed by our dreams. How I was able to break through was one of the most powerful moments of my life.

Hello and welcome back to Unleash Your Peace.
My name is Ellie Shouja.
I am your host.
I'm a positive mindset coach,
A personal transformation expert,
A deliberate creator,
And I am your peace trainer right here on the Unleash Your Peace podcast.
Now this podcast is where we dive into a different topic about the internal world every single week and we do that over five episodes released consecutively Monday through Friday.
Every day we go a little bit deeper into this topic and the whole goal is to go inward so that we can release all of the weight of the unwanted pain we are carrying,
We can find lasting internal peace within us,
And we can live our best lives yet.
When we live from this place of joy and peace and happiness and connectedness,
We don't just incrementally improve the quality of our lives,
We actually exponentially innovate every aspect of our experiences on this physical plane.
That's when we become our whole beautiful,
Powerful selves and that is when we become uplifters in our families and our communities and we become a force for positivity and expansion in the world and that's exactly my wish for you and my wish for humanity.
So this week we have been talking about your life's purpose.
What are you here to do?
What is the point of this life thing that we are doing?
In my opinion,
From everything I have seen and studied over the last 15 years,
I believe that our purpose here is to expand.
Our purpose is to experience relationship and to experience creation so that we can continue our expansion and as we expand,
Our inner beings expand.
The non-physical part of us expands as well.
So we are here to co-create with our inner beings.
This is why our inner being is constantly guiding us and communicating with us through inspirations and inspirations come to us in big blocks of knowledge that we then interpret and translate into ideas that make sense in our specific lives.
So we've talked about inspiration,
We've talked about the role of your ego,
Trying to keep you from it,
We've talked about not feeling ready for the visions that we have because we feel like we haven't lived enough contrast.
If you missed all of that,
Go back and listen to those episodes.
Really powerful stuff here.
And I keep the episodes as short as I can so that you can listen to all the episodes from one week and under an hour.
So it's a very small time commitment for a lot that you're getting out of it.
Today I want to close up this topic by talking about vulnerability.
I want to tell you a little story about what happened to me back in December.
Now I have been on this spiritual journey for about 15 years.
I've been digging deeper and deeper into myself for 15 years.
I have attended multiple Vipassana 10-day silent meditation retreats.
A little over two and a half years ago,
I even recruited a couple of my friends and we created several meditation courses and we created actually a community around meditation in Los Angeles called 2020 Meditate for Peace,
Which was also the name of our first meditation course together,
A 20-day meditation course together.
Despite all of this work in this spiritual space,
I never felt like I could have a voice in this space because it felt too uncomfortable.
I felt too vulnerable.
Back in December,
Something really powerful happened.
I had a very strong vision that I need to speak the things that I have learned and that I need to make my voice public.
And this literally freaked me out.
For three weeks,
I fought this with everything I had.
Everything that I told you about this week happened to me.
My ego had a field day with me.
For three weeks,
I could barely sleep.
I could barely eat.
I beat myself up.
Who in the world do you think you are?
Why would anybody listen to you?
What do you have to say that someone so much more qualified than you can't say 10 times better than you?
How delusional,
How self-righteous,
How self-absorbed you have to be to feel like you have something to say.
I beat myself up better than any bully on any school campus ever could.
And about three weeks went by and a friend of mine organized a spiritual event.
It was only five women.
I won't go into the details of it,
But it was four in the morning and everybody was asleep.
And I was still sitting,
Staring at the sky and feeling so lost and confused.
Not able to move forward,
Not able to move backwards either.
And then I had a moment of clarity.
Sure enough,
It was an inspired thought from my inner being.
It said to me,
Who do you think you are?
Not to say yes.
Do you think this vision that you had came from you?
Do you think you were the originator of it?
This was an inspired thought.
You translated it into something that is accessible to you.
And now who do you think you are to say no to it?
And this communication was very sobering for me.
And it made me also realize why I had been fighting it for so long.
Why I had been fighting it for these three weeks and then for the previous two years.
Why I felt like I needed to hide behind my friends.
I realized why.
And the reason it terrified me,
The reason I fought it so hard was because I felt so incredibly exposed.
This is what happens to me when I am writing.
I wrote a screenplay,
A one-hour drama based on growing up with a con artist father.
It's called Con Life.
And as I was writing that,
It literally felt like I had slit my wrists and I was bleeding onto the page.
It was perhaps the hardest thing I have ever written.
And I am told by everyone who reads it that it's one of the best things they've read from me.
What makes us scared?
What makes us vulnerable?
What makes us feel exposed is the very thing that connects with people the most.
Because that is where we are most raw.
That's when we have stripped ourselves most from whatever labels and illusions we have created on top of this physical entity that we call I.
When we feel vulnerable,
We transcend the I and we actually tap into a piece of us that is perfectly connected with our higher self,
With our inner being,
With that infinite part of us that knows exactly what we need to do,
Where we need to go,
What we need to say,
And to whom.
In that moment back in December,
I realized that vulnerability is actually our greatest strength because vulnerability,
Feeling exposed,
Feeling like you are standing naked in front of all these people and showing them what you are and what you have,
That is the most powerful moment in our lives.
That is when we connect with others on such a raw and deep level that we cannot help but to touch their hearts.
And ultimately vulnerability allows us to expand because it pushes us against our limits.
And that's exactly what we have come here to do,
To push those limits,
To transcend those limits.
Because ultimately,
We do not have limits.
We are infinite,
Powerful,
Limitless beings having a physical experience.
And there's nothing like vulnerability to remind us of our true nature.
I want to conclude this conversation about your life's purpose by asking you a very important question.
What makes you feel vulnerable?
What makes you feel exposed?
What is it that you are terrified to share about yourself with others?
And will you please share that so that we can see how beautiful you are?
Until next week when we introduce an entirely new topic,
