Tonight's lucid dream induction recording immerses you in a real-life lucid dream, pulled directly from the pages of a real lucid dreamer. In it, you'll navigate your way through a strange cityscape in search of adventure. And, as the dream unfolds, odd inconsistencies and a mysterious presence will hint at a deeper significance lurking just beneath the surface. Where will you end up? Who will you meet? Someone is waiting for you in the deeper layers of your subconscious mind. And, by falling to sleep with this recording on, you'll be able to meet this deeper aspect of yourself. Good luck, traveler, and happy dreaming! Voice in this recording: Reece Joseph Jones

Transcript

You are now entering a real lucid dream,

A lucid dream lifted from the pages of my very own dream journal.

By listening to this recording,

You'll sow the seeds for a lucid dream of your own later on in the night.

This in and of itself can be considered an induction technique,

A simple one granted,

But a technique nonetheless.

By turning the lights off,

Laying down on your bed,

And closing your eyes,

You can simply and effectively induce a lucid dream by leaving this recording on as you drift away.

Let my words,

Let my dream penetrate your subconscious,

Allow it to find its way in and allow it to make itself at home.

By falling to sleep with this recording on,

Your mind will be primed and your neurons will be wired,

You'll be saturated in the world of lucid dreaming.

So find a quiet spot now and get settled in,

Get comfortable and my voice will return in a couple of minutes,

To guide you into another world.

You're not a stranger to lucid dreaming,

Are you,

Traveller?

Oh no,

You've spent years practicing it,

Years wandering through dreamscapes,

Learning the art of control and discovery.

Which is to say,

You know your way around this place,

You're familiar with yourself,

Familiar with your mind.

You've had hundreds of lucid dreams,

If not thousands,

And yet,

Tonight,

As you drift off,

You feel different somehow.

You feel an unusual pull,

An unusual sense,

That this time is not like the others.

It's hard to explain how,

Hard to explain and yet,

You know that what's about to unfold is wholly unique.

And so you continue lying here,

Drifting,

Drifting,

Drifting,

And just like that,

Your mind's wide awake,

But your body's fast asleep,

You're in,

And you're lucid dreaming.

You find yourself standing on the edge of a towering cliff,

Overlooking a city that stretches on in all directions.

The skyline is an impossible blend of architectural styles,

Ancient temples,

Futuristic skyscrapers,

All shimmering under a surreal sky that flickers between day and night.

This is no ordinary dreamscape,

You think,

And without missing a beat,

You create a bridge extending out from the cliff,

Wooden slat by wooden slat,

Into the heart of the city,

And then you begin to cross it,

Eager to explore,

Eager to awaken further.

Now you near the opposite end of the bridge,

And below you,

You see the city pulsing.

Hmm,

Strange place,

You think,

Small inconsistencies appearing,

Buildings that shift in shape,

Shadows that move independently of their sources.

You feel a presence here,

A presence beyond the dream.

And so,

With a hop,

Skip and a jump,

You launch yourself into flight,

Off the end of the bridge and into the heart of the cityscape,

Swooping low to gain momentum,

And then up like a rocket,

Soaring above the highest building,

Higher and higher still,

Until the landscape below becomes a patchwork of lights and shadows.

Come back,

A voice from the city says,

But for a while,

You try to resist its pull.

But you can't resist its pull forever,

And,

Eventually,

You're dragged back down,

Like a moon being pulled into the orbit of a greater planet.

As you land back on the city streets,

The concrete beneath you shatters,

But there you stand unharmed,

Surrounded by a circle of dream characters,

Chattering.

Why are you here?

One asks.

All of a sudden,

This feels like more than just a lucid dream.

Why am I here?

You wonder,

Searching your mind for an answer.

But before a response can leave your lips,

The dream characters are gone,

And the city opens up for exploration.

You continue on,

And so you explore,

The streets twisting like a labyrinth.

You careen down one street,

Then the next,

Seeing all sorts of bizarre storefronts and strange faces as you go.

Why are you here?

A dream character asks again,

Stopping you abruptly with a hand on your shoulder.

You prepare to respond,

But,

Again,

Are cut short,

The ground beneath you cracking open and you slipping right through.

The dream character watches as you fall,

Plummeting through the different layers of the dreamscape,

Exhilarated and whooping all the way down.

You land in a vast,

Empty desert,

The city now a distant memory.

The sky is an endless expanse of burning orange,

And the ground is littered with remnants from the world above.

You get to your feet and brush yourself off.

You've descended to the deepest layer of your subconscious mind,

And,

For a moment,

You're quiet and still.

But then a figure appears on the horizon,

A woman,

Clad in flowing robes,

Her eyes bright with an unsettling intelligence.

Who are you?

You ask.

The designer,

She replies.

And where am I?

You ask,

Mildly unsettled,

Trying to regain some sense of control.

Again,

There's silence.

And in that silence,

You stew.

Finally,

The silence is broken.

You have strayed too deep.

I designed this place for you,

But you've arrived early,

She says in a kind but firm tone.

I,

Um,

Didn't mean to,

You respond,

Confused and losing lucidity.

It's okay,

You've merely lost your way,

She gathers herself.

But now you must choose.

Either stay here,

Lost and wandering,

Or return to the surface,

Forgetting everything.

Your heart pounds,

The gravity of the situation setting in.

Those are your options,

Traveller.

Stay or go.

You mull it over,

Getting so sucked into the plot that you suddenly feel as if your life depends on the answer you give.

The weight of the decision bears down on you,

The dream's reality pulling you in,

Deeper and deeper.

Your thoughts swirl and you can feel your grip on lucidity slipping,

Like sand through your fingertips.

The designer watches you with an expression that's hard to read.

Part patience,

Part urgency.

Choose wisely,

Traveller.

Once you decide,

There's no turning back.

You hesitate,

But then blurt out your answer all at once,

Worried that you'll never say another word again if you don't just say it now.

I'll stay,

You say.

I'll stay and risk getting further lost.

And just like that,

The designer smiles,

Nods a knowing nod,

And disappears in a puff of smoke,

Leaving just a note behind.

Tell me what you find,

The note reads.

I'll wait for you in waking.

Lucidity surges back to you and you take flight,

Ready for more.

Ready for more questions,

Ready for more revelations,

And ready for more lucid dreaming.

If you listened to this lucid dreaming story just for fun,

I hope you enjoyed it.

And if you listened for induction purposes,

Then I hope this parting message now finds you relaxed and drifting.

Your lucid dreaming seeds have been sown.

Your mind has been primed.

And you are ready for sleep.

And so with that,

I draw this session to a close.

Remember,

You are a lucid dreamer.

Never forget it.

Happy dreaming.
