Peace Of Your Heart

When you use music as a basis for our meditation or quiet space, we often turn to music of the East. It's exotic nature and connection to ancient spiritual traditions are provocative. Lately, my work has focussed on using Western musical genres for this purpose. I have used simple folk music, accompanied by banjo to create hopefully memorable and restorative music. In this offering I have turned my attention to smooth jazz which, at least for me, provides a conducive entry to states of quiet contemplation and reverie. To be true to the genre, melodies must be more complex and lyrics more intricate and hopefully poetic. This song focuses on the heart and finding, and resting, in the peace that may reside there.
