This is a guided journey to help you work with your emotions and your inner
Child.
This guided journey is best used when you are in the moments of feeling
The big emotions or being triggered or working with the limiting stories and
Beliefs that we're holding that originate from inner child versions of
Ourselves.
So in this practice we will begin by meeting the emotion that has
Arisen for you in this moment.
So this is a practice you can come back to that
Will really help you get to the source of these emotions to understand where
They have come from to begin to understand what it is that the inner
Child version of you needs most in these moments that you can then begin to act
On and implement in your life in order to truly feel the healing effect of such
Encounters with the inner child.
This practice helps us to heal those inner
Emotional wounds and stories and beliefs and fears that limit us and hold us back
From being our true selves.
It also helps us to integrate those parts of ourselves
That feel separate,
Parts that we don't like,
Parts that we might keep in shadow
Or hide and when we integrate those parts of ourselves we begin to feel a
Greater sense of wholeness.
We love ourselves more,
We accept ourselves more
Fully and we begin to truly sense and feel our value and our worth and as we
Tend to our emotions through working with our inner child we heal the
Emotional charge and the tenderness within us.
So let's begin this guided
Journey.
As I mentioned we're going to begin with really starting at the level
Of the emotion that you are feeling,
The charge that's present for you here and
Now.
So to begin I want you to locate this sensation,
This feeling,
This emotion
Within your physical body.
Where is it in your body that you are feeling what
You feel in this moment?
I want you to place a hand or both hands on that part
Of your body and then as you place your hands on any area that is feeling this
Heightened emotion in this moment,
Begin to describe it in your mind.
Choose the
Words that really accurately portray what is present for you right now.
Is it
A burning in the heart?
Is it an uneasiness in the belly?
Is it pain in
Part of your chest?
Just begin to witness and name in your mind any and all of the
Sensations that are present for you right now as you feel these emotions.
And
Now we're going to begin to get very clear about which emotions are present
For us in this moment.
Maybe we have one that feels the most present and sometimes
There are other underlying emotions as well.
So with your hands still placed on
The part of your body that is feeling these emotions in this moment,
I want you
To begin to now ask yourself in your mind the question,
What is here?
And as
You listen for that answer I want you to bring all of your awareness to where
Your hands connect with your body and begin to sense all of the emotions that
Are present for you in this moment.
Begin to name them.
Perhaps there's
Sadness,
Fear,
Worry.
Just going through that questioning to reveal to yourself
Any and all of the emotions that are present in this moment.
Perhaps there's
One,
Perhaps there's more.
There's no requirement or judgment on what is here.
Simply observing and being curious as to what is present for you in this
Moment.
And now we're going to begin to get a little bit more clarity around
These emotions and go a little deeper to uncover the reason for these emotions
Appearing now and what they're really about.
So again in your mind I want you
To ask yourself,
What am I sad about?
What am I angry about?
Naming each of the
Emotions that you discovered in your previous question,
What am I blank about?
And do so,
So on,
For all of the emotions you identify to really see what is
Underlying this feeling in the present moment.
And now we're going to begin to
Go just a little bit deeper.
Peeling back a layer of that surface emotion to see
What it is that has really been triggered here.
What the maybe deeper
Belief or inner wound is that a younger version of you is connected to.
So the
Next question I want you to ask yourself is,
Where does this come from?
And I want
You to allow yourself now as you ask that question to simply sense where this
Feeling really comes from.
Trusting whatever you receive,
Maybe that's a
Visual or a knowing or maybe you hear something inside yourself.
Now what I
Want you to begin to notice here is,
What time in your life does this really relate
To?
Getting a sense of the inner child version of you that is at the heart of
What you feel in this moment.
And as you do so,
Really beginning to sense what age
Is this inner child version of me?
And as you lean into that question,
I want you
To begin to bring to mind a visual of yourself at that age.
Noticing this inner
Child version of you here with you now.
And begin to really notice how they look
In this moment.
What is their body language?
How are they dressed?
What is
The look on their face in this moment?
Just beginning to really notice and
Become aware of this inner version of you that is present for you in this
Moment.
That has come forth due to the feelings and the trigger that you're
Experiencing right now.
And I now want you to make yourself known to this inner
Child version of you.
You might like to imagine that the two of you are sitting
Across from each other.
You may wish to kneel down to meet them at the size that
They are,
Or simply sit together side by side.
But make contact with this inner
Part of you.
Perhaps giving them a hug,
Grabbing their hand,
Anything that feels
Appropriate for you in this moment.
Just beginning to connect in the here and now
This version of you and them.
And you're going to now spend some time asking this
Inner child version of you some questions.
So finding a space in your mind,
Perhaps you'd like to create a scene that feels
Safe and comfortable for both of you.
To sit and have a conversation.
See yourself
Sitting together now.
And to begin I want you to just express to this inner child
Version of you your gratitude for them being present for you here right now.
That you're grateful that they shared these emotions with you.
And let them
Know that you are here now so that you can better understand them and
Understand what it is truly that they need in this moment.
And so as you sit
With this inner child version of yourself I want you to ask them what is
It you want me to know right now?
What is it you want me to know about why you
Feel how you do in this moment?
And then simply allow yourself to receive an
Answer.
Trusting whatever comes through for you.
That bit may be something that
You hear or that you see or that you feel or that you simply intuit.
Taking
Your time to allow yourself to receive an answer now.
And once this inner child
Version of you has shared their response you can now ask them what do you need
From me right now?
So that you don't feel this way in the future.
And again I
Want you to just open yourself to allow a response and an answer to come through
For you.
Trusting whatever you receive.
Again maybe it's something you intuit
That you hear or you see or you feel.
Taking some time now just to receive
That answer.
And as you receive that answer I want you to let the inner child
Version of you know that you are going to act on the information they just
Shared with you.
As soon as you are finished here in this meditation you
Will go back to your life and begin to implement what they shared with you so
That you can be the one to truly honor how they're feeling and what it is they
Need most in this moment.
Letting them know that you care and that this
Information is important to you.
And as you share that information with your
Inner child begin to notice how they look in this moment.
Has their body
Language changed?
What are their facial expressions now?
What is their energy
Like now?
Noticing if there's been any shift for them in how they feel.
You may
Now wish to give them a hug or thank them for coming forward.
And again
Reassure them that you are here for them now to take care of their needs so that
They don't need to feel this fear or sadness or whatever emotion it was that
Arose for you and that you'll be the one to honor them going forward.
And from
Here you can begin to now part ways with your inner child.
Sharing any last words
That you might feel you want to say to them or if there's anything else your
Inner child wants to share with you before you part.
And if it feels
Appropriate you may simply just wish to end this experience here bringing
Yourself back into the room.
Or otherwise there is an opportunity now for you to
Ask one more thing of your inner child and that is if they would like to come
Back with you,
To be present with you,
To leave this experience being more
Connected with you.
And if their answer is yes ask them where within you they
Would like to reside.
And again allowing yourself to sense and intuit or feel
What that answer might be and where in your body they'd like to be held within
You.
As you receive that answer now begin to imagine creating a space in the exact
Place that your inner child asked to be located.
You can visualize them now
Moving into that space and letting themselves feel at home where they are.
You may now wish to move your hands to that part of your body to kind of hold
Them energetically in that space.
Taking a moment once again to see how they feel
Here located within your physical body,
Within your energy body.
What are their
Facial expressions?
What is their energy?
How are they feeling now?
And with that
Knowing that when you wish to connect with this inner child version of you as
You act on the insight and information they shared with you today about what
They need you can consciously connect to where they are right now in your body.
Let them enjoy that experience as you provide it for both yourself and for
Them.
And just taking a nice deep breath here slowly breathing in through the
Nose and then exhaling and sighing that breath out through the mouth.
Another deep breath in through your nose and a big sigh to exhale that
Breath out.
One more time deeply inhaling through the nose and a big sigh to
Exhale.
Beginning now to really sense your physical body here either laying
Down or sitting in a chair.
Connect in with how it feels to hold the position
Of your body,
The weight of your body.
Begin to wriggle your fingers and toes
And deepen your breath.
When you feel ready gently opening your eyes and
Bringing yourself back into the room.
You may now like to take some time to
Journal on this experience.
Revisiting the questions that you asked your inner
Child and writing them down.
Committing to now act on what it is you received as
Guidance of what your inner child needed most in this moment.
And seeing to act on
That and complete that as soon as you possibly can to really seal in and
Integrate the healing that has happened today.
To really complete this experience
For yourself.
