I'm Lindsay Carr.
For almost 20 years I've been helping people who want to make a job or career change.
We can all have times when we feel stuck or lost,
Unfulfilled,
Bored or frustrated at work.
We may have a manager we can't stand.
Our job may have changed into something we don't enjoy.
We may feel that our values are misaligned with the company we're working for.
We may feel frustrated that we can't progress in the way we wish.
We may feel that we're meant to be doing something else to earn a living.
These things can look very real to us.
They are our experience,
The experience we're not enjoying.
We're not sure what else we want but we know we don't want that.
Most people will start compiling lists of pros and cons,
Talking to friends and family,
Searching job boards.
They will gather information from different sources so they can make a decision about what to do next.
The intellect is very happy with this approach.
It loves lists and data and comparing and contrasting.
It loves gathering information to weigh up options.
What it's not so great at is making decisions.
Its role is to keep us safe.
It tries to do this by using data about us,
What we've been comfortable with before and what we haven't,
And the world.
What's happened before,
What might happen.
Have you ever compared a list of pros and cons about something?
For example,
A holiday,
A place to live,
A place to study,
Etc.
But you've chosen the option that didn't come out on top.
Ever wonder why that was?
It's because we have another decision-making system operating quietly under all the noise of our intellect.
I'm going to describe that as our wisdom,
Intuition,
Common sense in a guidance system.
It's always working for us,
Leading us along the path that is right for us.
It can get drowned out by all the busyness of our mind.
It can show up as energy in the body or words in our head.
When we get quieter,
We're more likely to hear its guidance for our next step.
It can only guide us for the next step in front of us,
Not the next 10 steps,
Which is often what people want.
Think back to a time when you were aware of something other than your mind helping you to make a decision.
Did you choose to follow that or not?
What was the outcome?
How might your decision-making change if you knew you could rely on your intuition 100% of the time?
I'm looking forward to sharing more with you.
