The Tower card symbolises sudden upheaval,

Revelation and the dismantling of established structures.

It often represents a necessary but dramatic change,

Shaking the foundations of our beliefs,

Perceptions or way of life.

This card challenges us to confront the instability and unpredictability of life,

Urging us to find strength and resilience in the face of drastic,

Unexpected changes.

In this active imagination exercise,

We will explore the themes of The Tower,

Engaging with this concept of transformative disruption in our lives.

So first just making sure you are comfortable,

Whether seated or lying down,

And adopting a posture that is both relaxed and alert.

Close your eyes and just take a couple of deep breaths,

Just allowing the body and mind to relax naturally.

And as the breath returns to a natural rhythm,

Just keeping your attention on either the sensation of the air moving through the nostrils,

Or the rise and fall of the chest or abdomen.

If at any point you do get distracted,

Simply bring the attention back to the exercise.

And now imagine yourself standing in front of a towering structure that represents aspects of your life where you used to feel secure and certain.

This could be related to a personal belief system,

A career path,

A relationship,

Or any area that has provided you with a sense of stability.

Take a moment to examine this tower more closely.

Noting its various details,

Its material,

Are there perhaps any symbols on the tower?

Perhaps a date,

Or some other image?

And now imagine a sudden and powerful force striking the tower.

This could be a storm,

A bolt of lightning,

Or any other dramatic events.

Watch as the structure begins to crumble.

Observe the aftermath of the tower's fall.

Notice any emotions,

Thoughts,

And realizations that surface as you witness the structure crumble.

This upheaval.

What truths or insights are revealed amid the ruins?

And now you encounter a figure or a symbol that represents guidance and resilience.

Take a moment to examine it more closely and notice if it has any immediate message for you,

Which might appear in the form of imagery,

Words,

Or behavior.

Engage in a dialogue with this figure or object.

Ask the following questions.

What is the true meaning of this upheaval for me?

What can I learn from this collapse?

How can I find strength amidst the chaos?

And how can I harness this experience to build a stronger,

More authentic foundation for my future?

And now take some time to continue this two-way dialogue.

Asking anything you'd like to ask.

And observing the response.

And now imagine yourself embracing the change.

Finding new footing amongst the rubble.

Notice how you feel in light of moving forwards on new foundations.

With the insights and revelations you've discovered.

So just allowing the scene to fade now.

And remember,

It can be useful to journal this experience after the exercise.

So just bringing your attention back to the space around you now.

Noticing any sounds or sensations.

Taking a deep breath.

And opening your eyes again in your own time.
