Patchwork Heart is a piece I wrote on my journey towards healing in the aftermath of open heart surgery. The experience is one of being opened fully to the fleeting nature of life; of being faced with the task of mending together memories and experiences into a new tapestry that expresses who you are becoming. It is played on a baritone ukulele, the same instrument that was with me in the hospital room in the early days of my recovery. May the melody and words travel with you on your own journey.
