Namaste!
Welcome,
Beautiful soul!
I'm honored you've joined me today for our chanting circle,
A gentle space to awaken clarity,
Intuition,
And creative flow.
Today,
We will chant the luminous bija mantra,
AIM,
The seed sound of Saraswati,
The goddess of wisdom,
Insight,
Refined speech,
And inspiration.
Just find a comfortable seated position,
Your spine gently upright,
Your shoulders soft,
Your breath spacious,
And if it feels good,
Close your eyes and begin to sense the ground beneath you.
Feel how the earth holds you,
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to achieve,
Just arriving.
Inhaling softly,
And let your exhale melt any tension.
Let your awareness settle into your body,
Into this moment.
Let's take three breaths together,
Inhaling through your nose,
Exhaling through your mouth,
And exhaling with a gentle sigh.
Again,
Soft inhale,
And a long releasing exhale.
Once more,
Inhaling,
And exhaling,
Arriving in this moment.
Beautiful.
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Light,
Easy,
Unforced.
Feel the space around your heart,
And the brightness beginning to awaken inside.
Let me introduce the mantra we chant today,
AIM.
This beautiful bija is associated with Saraswati,
The energy of inner wisdom,
Intuition,
Learning,
Creativity,
And the subtle clarity that arises when the mind becomes still.
AIM is known as a mantra that clears inner fog,
Brightens perception,
And opens the inner space of insight.
It invites mental clarity and soft focus,
Not sharp or forced,
But spacious,
Luminous,
And receptive.
Many practitioners use AIM during study,
Creative work,
Intuitive reflection,
Or whenever the mind feels scattered or heavy.
Today,
We will chant it 108 times,
Gently,
Steadily,
Letting the vibration guide us inward.
Before we begin,
Let's explore the sound of the mantra together.
AIM has two parts.
It has AY,
A bright,
Open diphthong,
Moving from A to I.
And then NN,
The anusvara,
The soft nasal resonance.
To feel the diphthong,
Start with an open A,
And let it glide gently forward into I.
It's like your mouth smiles very softly into the sound.
AY.
And then comes the gentle nasal NN,
Lips relaxed,
The vibration lifting up behind the nose,
Into the cheekbones,
And also into the brow and the space behind the eyes.
AY.
So,
For the last sound,
You can either very lightly,
Gently bring your tongue up to the roof of your mouth,
But you can also just let your tongue relax and lift the palate a little bit.
AY.
That helps the resonance to come into the nasal region.
And sometimes,
When you move slowly from AY into NN,
You may hear subtle shimmering,
A soft overtone or upper harmonic.
You don't need to create it,
It appears naturally when the throat is relaxed and the exhale is steady.
Let's try it together,
Softly.
Let's do two more.
Beautiful.
I don't know if you're able to hear it,
These very gentle overtones.
They are so beautiful.
So,
Now,
Let's take a moment to set a gentle intention for our practice.
Find a comfortable pose,
Close your eyes and gently bring your attention inward.
You might want to place a hand on your chest,
Maybe both hands,
Feel the touch,
Feel the gentle movement of your breath and listen inward.
Listen what's alive in you right now and what you need from this practice.
You might dedicate this chant to clarity,
To opening your inner space,
To inspiration,
To intuitive guidance,
Or simply to a quiet mind.
Hold your intention lightly,
Not as effortlessly as you might like.
Hold your intention as a soft glow in the heart.
Let I'm carry it.
We will chant the mantra 108 times together.
You're welcome to chant aloud with me or simply receive the vibration.
Allow the breath to guide the rhythm and if the mind wanders,
Just return to the sound.
So,
Let's start.
Take a soft,
Deep inhale for I'm and fade gently into silence.
Feel the afterglow,
The brightness,
The spaciousness,
The soft clarity inside.
Rest for a moment in this luminous stillness.
Beautiful.
You can continue to meditate a little longer or gently begin to deepen your breath,
Softly returning to your body.
Feel your seat,
Feel your breath,
Feel your heart.
Gently bring your hands together at your heart.
May this mantra illuminate your inner space.
May it guide your intuition,
Inspire your creativity,
And bring clarity to your path.
Then take a soft,
Deep inhale for Aum.
Shanti,
Shanti,
Peace in your heart,
Peace in your mind,
Peace in your entire world.
Thank you for sharing your voice and presence here today.
Namaste.
