Since at least the Fourth Century, the monastic Office of Compline has been prayed at the very end of the day and to signify the start of "The Great Silence" of the night. This complete recitation of Compline, including Psalms 4, 91, and 134 and a reflection from St. Benedict, is offered as a gentle way to close your day in peace and enter a restful sleep. Includes ample space within the liturgy for contemplation.

L.

A releases at the federal level as a possible zaw down from the shortage of India Sally In the name of God,

Creator,

Redeemer,

And Sustaining Spirit of Life.

Amen.

Hail gladdening light of God's pure glory poured.

Who is the immortal Father,

Heavenly,

Blessed,

Holiest of holies,

Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now we are come to the sun's hour of rest,

The lights of evening round us shine.

We him,

The Father,

Son,

And Holy Spirit divine.

Worthiest art thou at all times to be sung with undefiled tongue.

Son of our God,

Giver of life alone,

Therefore in all the world thy glories,

Lord,

They earn.

A reading from the rule of St.

Benedict.

Let us open our eyes to the divine light and with startled ears let us listen to what the divine voice is calling out every day,

Urging us today if you should hear God's voice,

Harden not your hearts.

As for the one who is making progress in the spiritual life and in faith,

Their heart opens wide and with the joy that is too great for words and which comes from love,

Run ahead in the way of God.

Come for.

Come for.

Fear God.

Do not sin.

Ponder on your bed and be still.

Make justice your sacrifice and trust in the Lord.

What can bring us happiness,

Many say.

Lift up the light of your face on us,

O Lord.

You have put into my heart a greater joy than they have from abundance of corn and new wine.

I will lie down in peace and sleep comes at once for you alone,

Lord,

Make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 91.

Those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High,

And abide in the shade of the Almighty,

Say to the Lord,

My refuge,

My stronghold,

My God in whom I trust.

It is God who will free you from the snare of the Fowler who seeks to destroy you.

God will conceal you with their pinions,

And under their wings you will find refuge.

You will not fear the terror of the night,

Nor the arrow that flies by day,

Nor the plague that prowls in the darkness,

Nor the scourge that lays waste at noon.

A thousand may fall at your side,

Ten thousand fall at your right.

You it will never approach.

God's faithfulness is buckler and shield.

Your eyes have only to look,

To see how the wicked are repaid.

You who have said,

Lord my refuge,

And have made the Most High your dwelling.

Upon you no evil shall fall,

No plague approach where you dwell.

For you God has commanded their angels to keep you in all your ways.

They shall bear you upon their hands,

Lest you strike your foot against a stone.

On the lion and the viper you will tread,

And trample the young lion and the dragon.

You set your love on me so I will save you.

Protect you for you know my name.

When you call I shall answer,

I am with you.

I will save you from distress and give you glory.

With length of days I will content you.

I shall let you see my saving power.

Psalm 134 O come bless the Lord,

All you who serve the Lord,

Who stand in the house of the Lord,

In the courts of the house of our God.

Lift up your hands to the holy place and bless the Lord through the night.

May the Lord bless you from Zion,

God who made both heaven and earth.

Psalm 134 May the glory be to God,

Father,

Son and Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Jesus said,

Come to me,

All you who are weary and burdened,

And I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you,

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Amen.

Into your hands,

O Lord,

I commend my spirit.

You have redeemed us,

Lord God of truth.

Keep us as the apple of your eye.

Hide us under the shadow of your wings.

In righteousness we shall see you.

When we awake,

Your presence will bring us joy.

Save us,

Lord,

While we are awake.

Protect us while we are asleep.

That we may keep watch with Christ and rest with him in peace.

Lord,

Let your servant depart in peace according to your promise.

For my eyes have seen your salvation prepared before the presence of all peoples.

A light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people,

Israel.

Save us,

Lord,

While we are awake.

Protect us while we are asleep.

That we may keep watch with Christ and rest with him in peace.

God in heaven,

Hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us.

Amen.

Come,

O Spirit of God,

And make with us your dwelling place and home.

May our darkness be dispelled by your light and our troubles calmed by your peace.

May all evil be redeemed by your love.

All pain transformed through the suffering of Christ.

And all dying glorified by his risen life.

Amen.

May the God of peace,

The God who with love incarnate itself,

Grant us a quiet night and a perfect end.

Amen.

May God's grace,

Peace,

And love go with you into your night,

My friend.

Amen.

Very relaxing and comforting in an uncertain time and uncertain circumstances. The music, scripture, verses, and voice were perfect to take in, and experience God through, particularly in the evening before bed when the mind can be busy with worry. Thank you for sharing. Will become a new favorite of mine.

This was very different from my usual night prayer practice. I found I was able just to soak in the words and found it very soothing, and just what I needed tonight. Many thanks and blessings.
