Recently I saw someone write,
Why are the plants that are so prolific the least useful?
In other words,
Why do weeds overrun the world?
There is of course no such thing as a weed,
As all plants that move into a space are there to do a job.
It might not be a job that you can see directly benefiting you,
But it is helping the whole.
The so-called weeds pop up in places that seem inhospitable,
But they are simply following their nature to create a welcoming environment for others.
Dandelions use their deep roots to bring calcium into the upper soil levels.
Docks and thistles restore compacted land so more delicate species can begin to colonise.
Clover brings nitrogen into the soil.
And so the list goes on.
The work of these plants makes it possible for an ecosystem to evolve.
It got me thinking,
Again,
About our cultural blindness to things we don't know are benefiting us.
Because we are collectively blind to them we don't value them,
And so we don't make space for them,
And the health of the planet is impacted.
This is one of the big shifts we need to make now to ensure global well-being.
The sooner we realise how interconnected everything is,
Seen and unseen,
The faster we can turn the ship around.
Valuing each other is an essential part of the process.
We need to re-humanise to thrive.
Entrepreneurs have a powerful role to play in this shift.
Moving from what's in it for me to how can I contribute,
Which is a central shift conscious entrepreneurs have already made,
Changes the dynamic in an instant.
How you conduct yourself,
How you uphold your values,
And the actions you take are all critically important to global well-being.
Entrepreneurs who care about what they are creating are more powerful than they realise.
You are more powerful than you know.
You are already shaping all of our futures.
