DidjArpa, composed of Cristina Ruffino and Igor Olivier Ezendam, is a duet in which the continents have met. The harp, with its roots in European music, meets with the didgeridoo, maybe the oldest wind instrument in the world, used by the Australian Aboriginals for ceremonies and rituals. The sound of both seems to continue forever, the touch of the harp as water and wind and the vibrations of the didgeridoo with the circular breathing that leads to the memory of the primordial times on earth.

New big fan here! I have never heard the didgeridoo used in this way. I have heard many recordings, and spent amazing time in the Australian Outback, listening to the Aboriginal elders play and tell stories of the Dreamtime, but their songs were nearly hypnotic. The recordings were energetic or background music to vocals. I have never heard it used in a more "classical" sounding composition before. I think this was the first time I have heard it played and not had the image of the Dreaming of how it came to be formed whispering in the back of my mind as I listened. The harp has been one of a few remaining instruments I would like to learn to play (and has been on that list since I was very young). I can play a lap harp to a certain degree, but only to the degree that I consider myself technically proficient. Not at all like my piano and flute and piccolo and other assorted instruments that I have played for decades. My fingers these days may not allow for extensive strumming or picking, but I do ever so much enjoy harp music. This track was an inspired and out of the box creative tour de force. I noticed some musical tracks being published the last few days with this title's name and described as also being by this duo. I have bookmarked many of them for later listening, but I fully intend to do that sooner rather than later if this was any standard to measure by. Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so very much for sharing this beautiful gift of music with us here on Insight Timer. I see you and the light within you all. 🤲🏻❤️🤲🏻
