Hello my name is Jacqueline and I am a very proud grandma.
I write guided meditations for my grandchildren and I'm happy to share them with you too.
In this meditation we will soar high in the sky safely on the back of a bird.
So make yourself comfortable either sitting or lying down.
Wiggle a little and now allow your body to completely relax.
Take a deep breath in and as you slowly breathe out gently close your eyes.
Take another deep breath in and relax your shoulders as you breathe out.
And now we are ready to begin.
In your imagination you can feel something soft,
Something with a beating heart,
A comforting warmth.
In your mind's eye you find yourself flying high in the sky where you are nestled safely between the wings of a bird.
Its soft feathers comfort you as their warmth surrounds you.
You feel safe and comfortable as the bird gently soars up into the sky.
You have the perfect view as you nestle and make yourself even more comfortable upon the soft feathers and you begin to enjoy the ride.
It's a beautiful day.
You fly over your neighborhood.
You notice the buildings and scenery which are very familiar to you.
You remember a fun time you had with your very best friend and then you suddenly notice that the bird has flown over to their house.
As you fly around the happy memories come flooding back and you realize how much you enjoy being with your friends and how important they are in your life.
Now the scene changes as the bird flies over a place where you enjoyed an amazing holiday with your family.
You remember the holiday and as the memories come into your mind you realize how important your family are to you.
Once again the scene changes as the bird flies you over to a place you have always dreamed of going.
Somewhere you have always wanted to visit.
You enjoy this view and realize it is definitely a place you must visit someday.
A dream you will make happen when you are grown up.
This thought fills you with happiness but before the bird takes you back he flies to another destination.
Somewhere you have never ever thought of going or even imagined visiting.
It is beautiful here it looks so enjoyable.
You decide to look the place up on a map when you are able to but now it is time for the bird to leave you and he gently lands on the ground.
You thank him for the adventure as you climb off his back and now as you watch him soar up into the sky I hope your heart feels happy.
And now it's time to end this meditation.
Take a breath in as you wiggle your toes and fingers and as you breathe out gently open your eyes.
Notice how you are feeling.
I hope you feel excited about finding out about the surprise destination the bird took you to.
Where in the world was that?
The world is full of wonderful and amazing places many of which we don't even know about but by using the internet or visiting the library we can actually discover what a great world we have to explore.
I hope you feel inspired to explore the world even if it is only in pictures at first.
