Roger the Quokka by R.

M.

Bodie There's an island in Australia just off the coast of Perth.

This is the home of the happiest animal on earth.

Roger is a quokka whose day begins in sync with the rising of the sun.

He hops up and prepares for a fantastic day filled with fun.

Hopping around on his powerful hind feet,

Roger gets energy from all the fresh greens and vegetables he eats.

Once Roger has eaten his fill,

He is off to the beach to relax and chill.

Walking in the white sand and reveling in the cool ocean breeze,

Roger relaxes in the shade among the protection of the pine and tea trees.

As the heat begins to drop,

Roger begins to rise.

Roger is rejuvenated and rested with excitement and hope in his eyes.

Roger feels grateful to be able to live a life so simple and pure.

He is grateful for all the time he has to seek and explore.

Roger goes for hikes up and down the coast.

He draws a map and circles the places he likes most.

Roger enjoys going for walks in nature with his friends by his side.

These are wonderful opportunities for Roger and his friends to open up and confide.

As the sun starts to set,

Roger and his quokka friends hop back home to the forest near the stream.

Roger feels joy and excitement for he is living the life of his happiest dream.

Roger climbs his way atop the tallest and strongest pine tree.

From there he can observe the glow of the moon so perfectly.

Roger spends his nights staring out into the starry sky,

Hoping and dreaming from within his mind's eye.

Roger returns home to get some sleep for the night.

He is already excited for the new days approaching light.

Thank you for listening to Roger the Quokka's story.

I hope you learned something valuable and new.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Have a restful night's sleep.

And may all of your dreams come true.
