To begin our morning gratitude practice today,
I want you to think of a hummingbird sipping nectar from a flower.
Think about its long beak going into the flower,
Extracting all of that sweetness.
How the hummingbird flies so quickly from flower to flower.
Feeling both its productivity,
The fastness of its wings,
The way it flits from flower to flower.
And also consider how it pauses to really sip the sweet nectar from each of the beautiful flowers.
Connecting to the sweetness of the nectar and the swiftness of the hummingbird.
Channeling this energy of sweetness and productivity for your day ahead.
And letting this lovely animal as our guide leading the way,
Let's connect to feelings of gratitude as we begin this day.
First I want you to think of a person or people for whom you feel gratitude.
Hold them in your heart and say thank you.
Thank you for your love.
Thank you for your support.
And now I want you to think about an object or an item that you have in your home or in your space right now.
Be something that you're going to use during the day.
Something that makes your life easier.
Something that brings beauty.
Something that's useful.
And give gratitude for this object,
For this item.
Remembering how lucky we are to have the things that we have.
And finally,
I want you to feel your body and give gratitude for your health,
For the way your body works.
And sometimes we aren't in perfect health.
Sometimes we're feeling under the weather.
We might be dealing with chronic illness or pain.
Even so,
There's always something to be grateful for.
And so find something about your body that you can be grateful for.
Maybe thank your legs and your feet for allowing you to walk and move through this beautiful world.
You can thank your heart for beating,
For pumping the blood through your body.
Or maybe you can even feel grateful for a feature that you have.
Something that makes you feel beautiful.
Some feature that you are grateful for.
Taking a few more moments now to let the gratitude percolate.
To see if anything spontaneously comes to mind that you would like to feel grateful for.
And with this pause for gratitude,
We're making an offering for this day.
An offering of our attention for the things we feel grateful for.
Inviting more sweetness,
More goodness into our day.
May the wings of the hummingbird carry you into a productive,
Lovely,
Wonderful day.
