Today we honor the Ukrainian ancestors.
Welcome to the Circle.
Welcome to Everyday Magic for Ukraine,
Where every week we honor Ukraine and also practice some self-care to stay strong as allies.
If you're new here,
I'm really glad you've joined us.
Today as we arrive in Circle together,
I will invite you,
If you like,
To take a breath with me.
So today we are gathering to honor Ukrainian ancestors.
And if you are in the Circle with us today and you are someone who has Ukrainian ancestry,
You are especially welcome because you will be able to work much deeper magic than the rest of us because of your proximity,
Your connection,
And your lineage that will connect you to those ancestors.
And if you are here in Circle and you do not have Ukrainian lineage,
That is okay.
I do not either.
We will go forward in a respectful and responsible way.
The invitation is to bring yourself to a place of stillness,
Perhaps even connecting with your heart,
And feel into your body first.
See if you can feel the edges of your body.
You can feel where your skin meets the air,
Where your skin meets your clothing.
Just notice where you end and the world begins at that level of the body.
And now I invite you to notice your energy body,
Which is about two or three feet on every side of your body.
Your energy body,
Your bubble space,
Your aura.
Feeling into or imagining what this space is like right now.
Is it cluttered?
Is it clean?
Is it complicated in any way?
Would you like to smooth it out,
Round it out,
Make it into a nice,
Safe container for your being,
Which could mean releasing any energy that's not yours.
Could mean filling this space with you,
With your heart energy,
With your love,
With yourself.
Really filling into this aura,
This energy body.
And as you fill this space,
Notice the boundary around this space.
Is there an actual definite boundary?
And if not,
Can you create one?
Can you intend one?
Can you see one in your mind's eye?
Can you create it magically around yourself so that this space,
This bubble you're inside in your energy body,
Your aura is defined and it is sacred and safe and totally yours.
And if you like,
You might take a breath.
And now that we have defined our space in our physical body and our space in our energy body,
We are clear on where we are and where the world begins.
So let's bring our attention now into the space beyond our aura,
Beyond our bubble space,
Reaching out on the inner to the ancestors,
To your ancestors.
Notice who comes to mind when you hear that word ancestors.
Find yourself among them and see the faces or feel their presence.
Move within them and let them bring you any immediate wisdom they have for you right now.
And now that you've had a chance to connect with your ancestors,
To say hello to them,
To get some wisdom from them,
If you felt that in your heart,
See if it feels right to ask them to join you in turning the focus to the people living in Ukraine,
The Ukrainian people and their ancestors,
The folks who lived and worked and sometimes suffered on that land.
That very land just north of the Black Sea,
Including into the east of the Carpathian Mountains,
Feeling into that land,
That soil that we call the breadbasket of the world,
Feeling energetically into that space through time,
Honoring the land,
Honoring the people of the land.
Just giving a deep bow if it feels right to you,
Just a deep bow to these people who've lived their lives,
Who are now the ancestors,
Who can guide us and who can certainly guide their own descendants in knowing how to go forward,
In knowing how to be resourced,
Resourcing their descendants energetically,
Being with them.
And to whatever degree it might be right or helpful or useful,
You can ask for the resources from these ancestors to come as it's appropriate to their descendants today,
Who are fighting for their freedom right now,
Who every day are reforging connections and trying to keep their sanity and trying to just put one foot in front of another in a very difficult situation.
To whatever degree it's appropriate,
Let's ask.
Let's ask those ancestors to support their descendants today.
And then broadening it out a little bit,
Notice your ancestors who are with you right now and invite them if you'd like to resource with you to bring you whatever resources you need today.
Whatever resources you need to be a strong advocate for folks in Ukraine and world peace and world democracy and whatever resources you need in every other aspect of your life.
Just see that process completing now.
Allow that process to finish,
To come to a conclusion.
And if you like,
You can give a deep bow to your ancestors.
Gratitude and thanks to them for working with us today.
And also to the Ukrainian ancestors we called upon today.
Deepest bow.
Deepest bow.
May we always remember that the ancestors are here and available to work with us.
In some cases,
They are just waiting for us to call on them.
May it be so.
