Our words really do have the power to create reality, but that power is only fulfilled if we demonstrate integrity with our actions. Integrity here doesn’t mean moral integrity, but rather an alignment between what we say and what we do. When we exercise this kind of integrity and live by it, sharing what we are up to in the world benefits us by bringing life to our dreams in the minds and hearts of others, as well as giving them the opportunity to share in our excitement.

Let's go You What's up,

What's up guys welcome to the podcast My name is Tudor Alexander and this is the dance of life Here is an awesome quote for you from Zig Ziglar one of my favorites.

It was character that got us out of bed commitment that moved us into action and Discipline that enabled us to follow through Now I really love this quote because today I want to talk to you about something that I heard And it really kind of primed me to to make a whole episode about it Really this whole quote that I just quoted for you to me is about integrity and that's what this Episode is gonna be about but integrity And we're gonna break this down in just a little bit but integrity I don't mean it in a moral sense,

Even though that's kind of the common Understanding of that word.

I mean it more in terms of an alignment between What you say and what you do and that's what this quote to me reminds me about is that?

Ultimately,

It was character that got us out of bed.

It was what our beliefs what we have as a vision What are the things that we want in life that bring us,

You know to get up out of bed in the morning to motivate us but the the commitment and the discipline Was what able us to actually follow through and complete that you know,

This is a underneath this is an underlying duality between you know the the invisible world of the things that we believe and the things that we make meaning out of and the the physical world earth,

You know action movement things that happen and how we Can relate those two is really the study of a lifetime That's what all these kind of podcasts and quotes and shows you listen to is really helping you bridge the internal world of what you want Right and what you believe to the external world through your actions.

So without further ado the thing that kind of primed me to Record this episode was I was talking to a friend recently and She was telling me about I know we were talking about dreams and plans or you know Something like this and she was telling me that she had heard through a speaker or a podcast that you know,

Don't share your goals or don't share too much about them because you may Kind of cop out on yourself because by sharing your goals and talking to people about what you're up to in a sense you give yourself a pat on the back for the wonderful goals that you have and You kind of complete them in your head already like you you know you get a false sense of satisfaction From that completion so that you stop taking action and actually realize your goal full out so this was very interesting to me because You know on first Impact when you listen to that I say,

Okay well Yeah,

That kind of makes sense.

Like I don't want to tell everybody too much about what I'm up to because then you know I'm I might you know a you know,

Let them down.

I might let myself down I mean,

I might not reach that goal I might over promise I might you know Whatever else right other kind of things that come up to and that's certainly normal thinking right quote-unquote normal thinking but to me On second thought,

You know as I had the time to kind of process this later that day I'm like wait a minute.

There's a there's a dangerous assumption in In this quote and this I didn't remember the exact quote but in this idea that you shouldn't share your yourself You shouldn't share your goals too much because you know,

You might get this false sense of accomplishment on More analysis if you really look at that there's an assumption that guides this line of thinking and I think it's very dangerous if you let it into your mind and That assumption is that you are going to cop out on yourself that it's human nature to to cop out on yourself So,

You know better not to increase the odds that you won't basically do what you're gonna say that you're gonna do So,

You know on first hand,

Why do we assume that we assume that because it is normal if you look at everybody You know including myself everybody like we're never a hundred percent in alignment with what we say we're gonna do,

Right?

I mean that just happens every day either you tell somebody I'm gonna be there,

You know in ten minutes or there 15 minutes You know you have these constant,

You know missed Integrity points.

Let's put them that way missed,

You know promises that we make to people and we you know,

We have a general sense of tolerance that we go through life that it's human nature to be imperfect that it's human nature to miss what you promise to to be late to not say what you're gonna do to flake out,

You know,

That's just normal and In our world in that sense what that does is it cheapens our words,

You know,

It cheapens when you say hey I'm gonna be there you know,

Let's say I'm gonna be there in ten minutes like we're just talking about and You're there late all the time and people start to know you as the person that's being late Well your word in terms of telling people when you're gonna be there in that case It has no power because you have consistently demonstrated that you can't hold it up and so in that sense like it cheapens your ability to to create you know and to create let's say a kind of meeting with anybody or to create anything because there's no integrity there's no alignment between What you say and what you do and that's human condition,

You know,

That's that's as a business owner.

I You know I had a project with a buddy this year and I was just amazed because we had to go around to different businesses and stuff and kind of you know,

It doesn't matter what it was,

But just in dealing with other people and their businesses seeing who were the businesses that were really Integrass or like let's say in alignment with what they would say would do and how many people just simply have no clue You know,

It just blows my mind just how that's just normal.

You know,

Everybody thinks short-term everybody says something but then you know Does it two weeks later or doesn't do it at all or doesn't do it to the level that?

You know you would expect it to and and that's all normal quote-unquote normal,

But you know,

It's also normal to slouch It's also normal to sleep in it's also normal to give up It's also normal to do to eat fast food all the time because it tastes good like there's a lot of normal quote-unquote things That are standard behavior,

But that doesn't mean that that's what we should accept That doesn't mean that that's what we should accept and react to You know if human nature is to basically cop out on what we say we're gonna do to quit to not be honest Whatever right if that's human nature why?

Set that as the standard,

You know,

Why said that as the standard say well you just shouldn't talk to people too much about your dreams because You know,

Then you might not realize them.

I think that's totally backwards.

So you know the thing to take home for me or to consider is that Let's let's assume that you are somebody that goes by their word or at least you try a hunt,

You know your best and And what does that mean if that it's the standard,

Right?

What does that mean if we are in integrity with our words and with our actions?

So first off when you share your goals with people there's four four things that really come up for me First off when you share your goals you bring them into reality ultimately anything if you really Want it to be successful if you want something inspiring in your life It's gonna be bigger than what you can bring into the world on your own period So at the end of the day you have to share your goals with somebody So that you can bring it into the world if it's a goal that only you can achieve In a sense without anybody's help.

Let's put it that way then it's not big enough of a goal And honestly,

It wouldn't really be worth sharing anyway.

So the point is If it's a goal if it's a true goal from your heart from my thing,

You know authentically Challenging you and inspiring you then by default.

It should be shared with others,

Right?

Number two is that when you share it with somebody it becomes real like you commit yourself to that goal even more so because you know,

Let's face it it's a lot easier to cop out When only you know what's going on,

Right?

So if I don't tell anybody then I have an excuse it's much easier to let myself down than to let other people down So this is something very important because when you share your goals and you're specific,

You know I always talk about being specific even like with gratitude and all that stuff.

You have to be specific the more specific you are that shows that your consciousness your attention is fleshing that out it is You know being mindful of whatever it is So if I'm let's say expressing my gratitude for something and I say I'll man I'm grateful for water Well,

That's not very specific You know That's an easy way to just cop out of being grateful and and really tuning into why you're grateful like man I am so grateful truly that every day I get to wake up and Literally have as much water as I want to drink to bathe to brush my teeth when millions of children And this is a fact like millions of children on the planet aren't even allowed that resource like that basic clean water Right.

So when you when you bring your mind to that and you are You know consciously Outlining what it is You're much more committed to it whether it's gratitude whether it's a business project,

Whatever else,

You know,

You're putting your mind there so sharing it and being specific about it commits you further and And it allows you to kind of knock up out of yourself to challenges you to be bigger So that's number one and two.

So number three It gets you excited,

You know when you share something with somebody authentically it's a little scary.

Yeah,

Especially if it's something You know,

That's that's kind of like your heart project your passion project,

But at the same time it's exciting It's exciting to share with others and this goes right in line with the fourth and final point which is it gives other people the opportunity to get excited with you and to get excited about your project,

You know,

So this is very important because you know one of the things I talk about is With generosity,

So I if you have been listening,

You know,

I'm coming out with a book in another couple weeks.

I'm super excited guys This is like my first book and it's really come together It's gonna be a online course a ton of courses guided meditations all kind of stuff on gratitude super excited I'll be sharing that with you a little bit in a couple of more episodes,

But in the book I talk about generosity and in generosity we talk about Much more than just money.

In fact,

There's a lot of ways to be generous without and money has nothing really to do with it It's really about your ability to share Right to share different resources and one of those resources is information And what does that mean?

You know,

How do we share information?

Well information is like when somebody asks you how was your weekend?

How often myself included,

You know,

We give like the bare minimum Just to avoid a conversation.

Oh,

Yeah,

I was good And you know,

You could have the most amazing weekend or you could have a terrible weekend,

You know But you don't talk about it because for one reason or another you don't want to get in a conversation You know you afraid of get rejected made fun of whatever right?

So at the end of the day,

You know being generous with Yourself with other people it gives them the opportunity to Live in your world to share in what you have and you never know somebody might have something to tell you That you would only find out if you were to share So that's really really important The other important thing to remember too is that there's a power to our words.

I talk about this a lot the power of language.

It's your Awareness that literally your words create the world The words create the world.

How does that happen?

Well think about a stop sign,

Right?

You see a stop sign and because we all assuming you can read the language that's in it has an energy to it It has a call to action Right,

You know what it is.

It means stop otherwise you get pulled over if there's a cop around like there's there's a whole series of actions and history and possible possibilities and future things all wrapped up into that little stop sign that little word on a red octagon And when you see that that whole world Let's call it a realm that whole realm comes into your mind and it dictates your action and it you know to me It's fascinating if you look at the whole world around you Around us,

You know I often like to do that like I'll sit where I can just see traffic or something like that like in a park and And everything that moves around moves around because of this invisible realm of meaning and agreements and Information that's guiding the physical realm,

You know people are running after you know their jobs because it's This hour and they're driving there because they had a thing in their calendar that told them they had to go there Like all of that is just information that we interpret and then we decide to take action and we don't question that You know that rules our actions,

But then when it comes to creating our own information Right.

So creating your own information in terms of I Don't know.

Let's say your own vision your own dreams your projects.

It's so hard to Relate action to that,

You know because we we cop out we're not Integrous with our word in that sense,

But yet,

You know,

Assuming you're a decent Driver,

You're always gonna stop at a stop sign right so that there's integrity there in a sense like your Your actions and the information are aligned.

So if we can come to the point we treat what we say You know when you say a word you Follow it in the same way that you would follow a stop sign right,

But we don't because When one reason or another right we get lazy we get afraid we cop out we stop believing ourselves There's some limiting belief in the way something right so again,

You know you've got Generosity is what what this really comes down to don't put a band-aid Over the problem just because human nature is to cop out to quit to be inauthentic That doesn't mean that you react to that and you say well,

Then we should just not share Our dreams and our hopes with other people know You go to the source and you say wait a minute.

Let me get in alignment with what I'm saying and improve that and Then take advantage and benefit from sharing From sharing our resources our information with other people and our goals our dreams You know share the love when people share something inspiring with me.

I think it's great It gives me a boost that day or it gives me an idea You know the whole reason about being inspired is that you share it with other people and then that lights their path And then that's like a wave effect and then we all get brighter and brighter and brighter and that's the whole point You know so one Thing I'll leave you before I'd give you a little takeaway with this episode is I started a daily gratitude practice Facebook group,

I'd love for you guys to check it out.

It's absolutely awesome.

And you know today we're talking about sharing And this group it's totally free.

There's no promo and it's literally just for a space for people to share Themselves to share what they're up to that they're grateful for Share your wins share your accomplishments share the things that you're grateful for be generous,

You know generosity goes hand in hand With a happy and fulfilled life.

This podcast is about Living a transformed life.

It's about taking action towards the things that you love all those things that I say in the beginning that was carefully worded,

You know in a sense because that's what this is about it's about sharing and Getting yourself out there and you know sharing who you are with people taking action on that and that happens from an open Heart an open space,

Right?

So that's what the group is about.

Check it out.

It's called daily gratitude practice.

It's on Facebook It's got a green little Lotus flower,

I think pretty cool.

I've got a ton of people in there super exciting.

It's very Motivating and fun.

Everybody's really supporting each other.

It's it's just a cool group.

So with that Here is my takeaway Our words really do have the power to create reality But that power is only fulfilled if we demonstrate integrity with our actions Integrity here doesn't mean moral integrity,

But rather an alignment between what we say and what we do When we exercise this kind of integrity and live by it Sharing what we're up to in the world benefits us by bringing life to our dreams in the minds and hearts of others as Well as giving them the opportunity to share in our own excitement in the end.

It's true what they say sharing is caring For more episodes and weekly content stay connected at dance of life.
