Rumi’s words remind us that love is not something distant to be discovered, but a timeless truth already living within us. This poem is on the knowing that lovers do not find each other by chance. They awaken to the love that has always been present, woven through their souls all along. Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, popularly known as "Rumi", is a 13th-century Sufi poet. Today, he is recognised as one of the greatest poets who ever lived, due in part to how his words seem to speak to the Divine. Photo by Nina Hill. Translation by Coleman Barks.

The minute I heard my first love story,

I started looking for you,

Not knowing how blind that was.

Lovers don't finally meet somewhere,

They're in each other all along.
