Welcome.
Before you close your eyes,
I want you to simply notice the color red.
Red,
Deep,
Rich,
Alive,
The color of the earth itself.
Clay,
Iron,
And fire,
The color of your own blood moving through your body right now,
Keeping you alive without you ever having to ask it.
Red is your most primal,
Powerful self.
It is survival.
It is passion.
It is life force.
It doesn't ask permission to exist.
It simply is.
Let that land for a moment.
Now,
When you're ready,
Gently close your eyes.
Feel where you are.
Feel the weight of your body.
Feel the surface beneath you,
The chair,
The floor,
The ground,
Holding you without any effort on your part.
You don't have to earn this support.
It's simply there.
Bring your awareness to the soles of your feet.
Just notice them.
Feel any sensation there,
Warmth,
Tingling,
Pressure,
Or even nothing at all.
Just notice.
Now bring your awareness to your hands.
Feel them resting wherever they are.
Notice the temperature of the air on your skin.
Now your face.
Soften your jaw.
Let your tongue rest gently in your mouth.
Let the space behind your eyes soften.
You are here.
You are in your body.
This body is yours.
This moment is yours.
Take a slow,
Natural breath in through your nose.
And exhale through your mouth with a gentle,
Audible sigh.
Let it go.
Again,
Breathe in.
And sigh it out.
Release anything that doesn't belong in this moment.
One more time,
Breathe in fully.
And exhale completely.
Good.
You've arrived.
Now we're going to move our awareness slowly through the body.
Not to fix anything,
Not to judge anything.
Simply to acknowledge what's here.
Start at the very top of your head.
Just breathe here for a moment.
Acknowledge this part of your body.
Slowly move your awareness down to your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your jaw.
Softening as you go.
Down through your throat and neck.
Breathing here.
Into your shoulders,
Letting them drop just a little.
You don't need to carry that tension right now.
Down through your arms,
Your elbows,
Your wrists,
Your hands.
All the way through your fingertips.
Back up into your chest.
Your heart.
Place a hand here if it feels right.
Feel it beating.
That faithful,
Tireless heart.
Breathe into this space.
Let it expand and soften.
Down into your hips,
Your pelvis,
The base of your spine.
This is where we're going today.
This is the seat of your root chakra.
The foundation of your entire energetic system.
The place in your body where safety,
Stability,
And belonging live.
Breathe here now.
At the base of your spine.
Feel this part of your body with your full attention.
Now bring your awareness back up to your heart center.
Imagine your heart is glowing.
A warm,
Pulsing light lives there.
Steady and bright.
As you breathe in,
The light begins to deepen in color.
It shifts into a rich,
Luminous red.
Deep red.
The red of the earth.
The red of life force.
The red of your most ancient,
Primal self.
This red light is alive.
It pulses with every heartbeat.
And now with your next exhale,
Imagine that red light beginning to move downward from your heart.
Slowly,
Warmly,
It travels down through your chest.
Into your belly.
Through your abdomen.
Into your hips.
And into the base of your spine.
The base of your spine begins to glow red.
Warm and steady.
Like an ember that has always been there,
Waiting to be acknowledged.
Breathe into this red light.
With every inhale,
It grows brighter.
With every exhale,
It grows warmer,
More stable,
And more alive.
This is your root chakra awakening.
This is muladhara,
The root,
The foundation.
The place in you that knows how to survive.
How to belong.
How to stand on the earth and say,
I am here.
Stay here for a few breaths.
Just breathing red light into the base of your spine.
Now,
From this place of glowing red light at the base of your spine,
Imagine that roots begin to grow.
These are roots of light.
Deep red and golden at their edges.
Luminous and alive.
They grow downward from your root chakra.
From the base of your spine.
Moving down through your body.
Down through the soles of your feet.
And down into the earth beneath you.
Watch them travel.
Down through the floor.
Down through whatever lies beneath you.
Down through layers of soil and clay and stone.
Down through the deep,
Dark,
Rich earth.
These roots go deep.
They anchor you.
They hold you.
And as they go deeper,
They find something extraordinary.
The very heartbeat of the earth itself.
A deep,
Slow,
Ancient pulse.
The earth has been here for billions of years.
And it has held every living thing that has ever existed.
And right now,
It's holding you.
Feel your roots connect to this pulse.
Feel the earth's energy begin to travel back up through your roots.
Warm.
Stable.
Nourishing.
Like water traveling up through the roots of a giant tree.
This energy rises up through the earth.
Up through your roots.
Up through the soles of your feet.
Up through your legs.
And back to the base of your spine.
Your root chakra fills with this earth energy.
Red and gold and warm.
Ancient and steady.
You are connected.
You are held.
You are rooted.
Breathe here for a moment.
Feel this connection with every breath.
Now,
As you rest here in this rooted,
Grounded place,
I want to gently invite you to acknowledge any fear that lives in this space.
The root chakra is where our survival fears are held.
Fear of not having enough.
Fear of not being safe.
Fear of not belonging.
Fear of being abandoned or unsupported or alone.
You don't need to analyze these fears right now.
Simply acknowledge that they exist.
Place your hand on the base of your belly if that feels supportive.
And now imagine that warm red light at your root chakra.
Begin to gently dissolve these fears.
Not by fighting them.
Not by pushing them away.
But simply by shining.
Fear cannot survive in the presence of grounded,
Loving awareness.
With every inhale,
More red light floods into your root chakra.
With every exhale,
Old fear releases.
It travels down your roots and into the earth,
Where it is composted,
Transformed,
And returned to something neutral and clean.
You are safe to release this now.
The earth can hold it.
That's one of her gifts to us.
Breathe in the light.
Exhale the fear.
Breathe in stability.
Exhale anxiety.
Breathe in trust.
Exhale what no longer serves.
Now I'm going to offer you some affirmations for your root chakra.
Receive each one silently.
Let it land in your body rather than just in your mind.
Feel where it resonates or where it feels like a place that still needs healing.
Both are valuable information.
Breathe in and receive.
I am safe.
Feel those words at the base of your spine,
In your bones,
In your body.
I am grounded.
Rooted,
Connected,
And present.
I belong here.
Not just in this room,
On this earth,
In this life.
You belong here.
My body is my home.
This body,
Exactly as it is,
Is your home.
You are welcome here.
I am supported by the earth.
Beneath you always is the earth.
She has never once let you fall through.
I release fear and choose trust.
Not blind trust,
Rooted trust.
The trust that comes from knowing you have survived everything that has tried to undo you.
I am rooted,
Stable,
And strong.
Say that once again to yourself.
I am rooted.
I am stable.
I am strong.
Let these words become the red light in your root chakra.
Let them pulse there,
Steady and warm like a heartbeat.
Take a few moments now to simply rest in this state.
Your root chakra is open and glowing.
Your roots are deep in the earth.
Your body is present,
Acknowledged,
And at home.
Notice how you feel right now compared to when you began.
There may be a sense of heaviness in the best possible way.
Like you've been gently pressed back into yourself.
This is what grounding feels like.
This is available to you at any time.
You can return here with a single breath.
One conscious exhale.
One moment of feeling the ground beneath your feet.
One quiet acknowledgment.
I am here.
I am safe.
I am home.
Slowly bring your awareness back to the room around you.
Notice the sounds.
Notice the air on your skin.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Take one deep breath in through your nose.
And a long slow exhale through your mouth.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Welcome back.
You are grounded.
You are here.
And you are exactly where you are meant to be.
