A prayer to release the weight you've been carrying.
God,
I come before you just as I am in this moment,
Not rushed,
Not pretending,
Not trying to be anything other than I am.
You see my heart,
Lord.
You know the weight I've been carrying,
The quiet worries,
The responsibilities,
The emotions I don't always have words for.
Some of these things I've shared with others and some I've held silently inside.
Today I place them all in your care.
Jesus,
I invite your presence into this moment.
Help me to slow down.
Help me breathe more deeply.
Help me to become aware that you are so near,
Closer than my thoughts,
Steadier than my emotions,
And gentler than my fears.
God,
There are days when I feel strong and hopeful,
And there are days when I feel tired and unsure.
You meet me in both places.
Thank you for never asking me to have it all together before coming to you.
Thank you for welcoming me exactly as I am.
Thank you for being so kind to me.
Right now,
Lord,
I release the need to fix everything.
I release the pressure to carry on what was never meant to rest on my shoulders alone.
I release the tension in my body,
In my jaw,
My shoulders,
My chest,
And I allow your peace to move through me.
Jesus,
Speak calm into the places that feel unsettled.
Where my thoughts have been racing,
Bring stillness.
Where my heart has been heavy,
Bring comfort.
And where I have been holding on to worry about the future,
Remind me that you are already there.
God,
I trust you with the things I cannot control.
I trust you with unanswered questions.
I trust you with situations that feel uncertain or unfinished.
I trust you with the people I love and the paths that they are walking.
Help me to remember that I am not alone in any of this.
You walk with me.
You guide me gently.
You steady me when I feel unbalanced.
Jesus,
Thank you for being patient with me.
Thank you for your compassion when I struggle.
And thank you for your faithfulness that does not waver based on my emotions or my circumstances.
In this moment,
I choose to rest.
I choose to let go.
I choose to lean into your presence instead of my worries.
God,
Fill this space with peace.
Not a fleeting peace.
But the deep,
Steady peace that settles into your soul.
The kind of peace that reassures me that I am held,
That I am loved,
And that I am cared for.
And as I continue with my day,
Or as I move toward rest,
Help me to carry this calm with me.
Help me to move more slowly.
Speak more kindly.
And trust more deeply.
Let your peace guide my steps and soften my heart.
Thank you,
Lord,
For always listening.
Thank you for always being near.
And thank you for always holding what I release.
I place myself in your care now,
Trusting that you will continue to walk with me,
Moment by moment.
Amen.
