Find yourself in a comfortable seated position,
With your feet flat on the floor and your back straight.
As you take a deep breath in through your nose,
Close your eyes and exhale through your mouth.
Another deep breath in through your nose,
Exhaling through your mouth.
I'd like to invite you to imagine you are holding a cup of hot chocolate.
It smells so good.
Visualize yourself bringing it to your nose,
And as it comes closer to your face,
You can already smell it.
Take a deep breath in,
Smelling that delightful chocolate,
But it's so hot,
You know you need to cool it off,
So you blow on it through your mouth.
Take another deep breath in,
Taking in the scent of that wonderful chocolate smell,
And then cooling it off with an exhale through your mouth.
Imagine setting aside your hot chocolate,
And picking up a lemon in each hand.
Now imagine squeezing those lemons,
And clenching your fist so that the juice comes out and release.
Squeezing those lemons again,
Allowing the juice to flow and release.
Setting the lemons aside.
And now as you are seated,
With your back straight,
I want you to picture what a turtle would look like,
Seated alongside you,
With the roundness of the shell.
I'd like you to try to curve your back,
Just like the shell of the turtle.
Rounding your back,
Pushing it out and releasing.
Rounding your back,
Pushing it out and releasing.
Straightening your back again.
This time imagine that you are laying down,
And a giant elephant is in the room with you.
You know that the elephant is going to be walking over you,
And the only way to prevent injury is for you to tighten your core muscles,
As straight as a board,
As strong as the board.
So in your mind,
Just imagine that elephant is coming near you,
And as it steps on your stomach,
You clench or tighten your core muscles,
And release.
Another footstep comes on,
Tighten those core muscles,
And release.
And finally,
Stand up from the seated position,
And I would like for you to imagine how a cat stretches its entire body,
And you do the same.
Take your hands,
Extend them over your head,
Stretching your arms to the sky,
Extending your body and just allowing it to lengthen.
Stretching onto your tippy toes,
As your legs feel like they're getting longer with the stretch,
And just allowing yourself to stretch now,
Wherever your body is calling for you to nurture it.
Come back to a standing position,
Take another deep breath in through your nose,
And exhale.
One more deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Let out an audible sigh,
And you may open your eyes when you are ready.
