Today we're going to create an anchor.
So anchoring is a neurolinguistic programming tool that refers to the process of setting up a stimulus response pattern so that we can conjure a certain feeling on command.
So what we're going to do today is turn one of your knuckles into a button that you can press to conjure a desired feeling on command so your anchor will help you out in times where you feel insecure or just down or times when you could just use a boost and shift state.
So anchors are really fun to create intentionally.
We of course have many different anchors already that elicit a certain response in us.
For example someone tapping us on the shoulder will elicit a certain response and a certain set of actions,
Notifications on our phone,
Alarms.
There are many different types of anchors,
Auditory,
Visual,
And kinesthetic that are basically determining our actions at any given time.
So today we're going to conjure up a really feel-good supportive anchor that you can use to shift swiftly into confidence or any other desired feeling that you're calling in with your glamour magic.
So let's start off by identifying a feeling that you want to be able to conjure on command.
So what would be really supportive for you right now?
A feeling of confidence?
A feeling of abundance?
Personal power?
Feeling magical?
Identify a specific desired feeling that you want to create your anchor for.
And after you've done that,
Identify a specific time in your life where you felt that exact way and call that experience to mind.
Consider where you were,
What you were doing,
Who was involved,
And how you felt.
So now you're going to place both hands flat on the table in front of you and select a knuckle which you'd like to use as your anchor.
Any knuckle.
And you're press down on it with some force,
Not enough force to hurt,
But just before it might hurt.
And now I'm going to invite you to put your finger on the knuckle that you've selected and get ready to press down.
But before you do,
Take a deep breath in,
Close your eyes,
And call to mind that specific time that you felt exactly the way that you want to feel.
As you go back to that time,
Float down into your body,
See what you saw,
Hear what you heard,
And feel those feelings of feeling exactly the way that you felt,
That good feeling that you felt.
Immerse yourself in that experience.
Now dial up the color,
Make it brighter,
Make it more focused.
Dial up the sound,
The intensity,
The volume of the sounds around you.
Now dial up the feelings that you felt and let your mind be clear.
Focus only on those feelings and the image in your mind that you associate with those feelings.
Now begin to press down on your knuckle firmly and think about a dial,
Which as you turn it,
Any emotion that you're feeling becomes stronger and stronger.
And as you think of that time,
Take that dial and turn it up a little,
Noticing the feeling getting stronger and stronger,
Creating more intensity in your body,
Noticing how strong that good feeling becomes.
Now turn the dial up to 100 percent,
Feeling the most intense feeling in your body filled with that feeling.
Let it grow and hold it for as long as you can maintain this peak state.
And as soon as you feel it the strongest,
Remove your finger from your knuckle and let your body relax.
Take a deep breath in and a complete exhale to relax.
Now shake out your hands,
Maybe shake out your legs,
Roll your ankles,
Roll your wrists,
Stand up.
If you like,
Do a couple jumping jacks just to break your state and come back into the present moment here.
And now test your anchor.
Press that knuckle like a button.
