Take a moment to carve out a slice of time for the divine and watch how it fills you with joy and solace.
It's such a small act.
It acts so little but for our devotion,
And yet we are caught in the continuous exploit outside of ourselves to find comfort in doing,
Gathering,
Fixing,
Stressing.
If we take a moment for God,
We find comfort.
This is what Jesus meant when he invited us to love with all our hearts.
It's not about the rote recitation of prayer while our minds wander to the evening's menu.
It's about turning our full attention to that force of life,
That breath within the breath,
To God.
The essence of faith is not in grand gestures,
But in the quiet,
Steadfast search for that which is larger than us.
It's seeking out the divine electricity that powers our very essence,
The energy flowing through our veins,
The pulse of the universe itself.
The teachings remind us to seek God first,
Promising that our needs will be met not as a transaction,
But as a law of grace.
Why then are we so afraid to surrender?
This counterintuitive law of grace is the secret that whispers to us in the stillness.
It's a truth that speaks to us behind every aspiration,
Behind every striving.
Don't look outside of you.
You won't find it there.
Go within.
And if we learn to turn away from our smaller selves,
To reject the thoughts of ego that clamor for attention,
We will find truth instead.
It is a law of grace.
We will find a peace so bright that it outshines all material needs and brings comfort to every separated human woe.
This is the message that Christ embodied.
Love with all our hearts.
Choose the divine.
Choose the power of truth.
Choose love.
And all is filled,
All is comforted.
Think of yourself not as a lone ember,
But as a diamond capable of reflecting the entirety of the light that strikes it.
We can lift ourselves from the weight of this world,
From the needs and the negativity,
From the charcoal thoughts of can't and won't,
To the diamond belief that we are divine.
The struggles we face,
The waves that buffet us,
They're not our whole story.
We're not just the wave,
We're the ocean.
In our most turbulent times,
It's essential to remember that we are boundless and in that there is immeasurable power.
So let's choose to hold the vision of our diamond selves.
We can choose again for light.
We can choose again for the comfort of truth.
That is the power we possess in the likeness of God.
Find God and you will find comfort.
This is a law of grace.
