Storied Sounds: Life Of Jesus & Rain On Tin Roof (8 Hr)
No earbuds or headphones required. 5 rem cycles. Drift off to sleep to actual field recordings of rain on a tin roof while hearing a bedtime reading of an iconic spiritual text. These natural soundtracks are more effective than standard noise tracks because they include isochronic tone brainwave entrainment frequencies that match the timing and the frequencies associated with a scientifically demonstrated optimal 8 hours of sleep. Perfectly timed square waves spanning 10 hz to 1 hz (alpha - theta - delta) influence your brain giving you the best rem cycles and groggy-free waking. Nature meets science: the Frequency-Following Response (FFR) is the natural tendency of the brain’s electrical activity (brainwaves) to synchronize with the rhythm of external, repetitive stimuli. When the brain is exposed to consistent auditory (isochronic tones) stimulus, the neural ensembles in the cerebral cortex adjust their own electrical oscillations to match the frequency of that stimulus.

The Life of Jesus A Non-Fictional Sleepy Time Summary of the Gospels of Matthew,
Luke,
Mark,
And John Part 1 Beginnings,
Calling,
And the Quiet Start of the Kingdom Let your body grow still Let the weight of the day soften This is a true story told gently In the days when the world moved more slowly Before engines,
Before electricity,
Before the constant sound of voices The land of Judea rested beneath wide skies and open roads Villages were small People knew one another's names Days were shaped by light and darkness By work and rest,
By prayer and waiting In that land,
In that time A young woman named Mary lived in the town of Nazareth She was betrothed to a man named Joseph He was a carpenter,
Steady and ordinary Known to his neighbors Before they came together,
Mary was found to be with child Joseph was troubled He was a just man and did not wish to shame her He considered ending the betrothal quietly But as he slept,
An angel appeared to him in a dream The angel told him not to fear The child Mary carried was conceived by the Holy Spirit She would bear a son Joseph was told to name him Jesus For he would save his people When Joseph awoke,
He did as he was instructed He took Mary as his wife Not long after,
A decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered Each person was required to go to their ancestral town Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem,
The city of David The journey was long The roads were crowded When they arrived,
There was no place for them to stay And there,
In Bethlehem,
Mary gave birth to her firstborn son She wrapped him in cloths She laid him in a manger That night,
Shepherds were keeping watch over their flocks An angel appeared to them,
And they were afraid But the angel said,
Do not fear,
I bring you good news of great joy The angel told them of the child born that day in the city of David Suddenly,
The sky was filled with many voices praising God The shepherds went quickly They found Mary and Joseph and the child lying in the manger They told what they had been told And Mary kept these things in her heart Later,
Wise men came from the east They followed a star They sought the one born king of the Jews They brought gifts of gold,
Frankincense,
And myrrh But danger followed the news of this child King Herod,
Fearing the loss of power,
Sought to destroy him Joseph was warned in another dream He took Mary and the child by night and fled to Egypt They remained there until Herod died Then they returned and settled again in Nazareth,
Where the child grew Jesus grew in wisdom He grew in strength He lived quietly He learned the work of his father He prayed,
Read the scriptures,
And walked the familiar roads of Galilee Years passed When Jesus was about 30 years old,
A man named John appeared in the wilderness John wore simple clothing He ate what the land provided He preached repentance He baptized people in the Jordan River Crowds came to him He spoke of one who was coming after him One greater than himself Then Jesus came to Jordan John recognized him and hesitated But Jesus asked to be baptized So John agreed As Jesus came up from the water,
The heavens opened The Spirit descended upon him like a dove A voice from heaven said,
You are my beloved son After this,
Jesus was led into the wilderness He fasted there He prayed He was tempted,
And he remained faithful When he returned,
He began to teach He walked along the Sea of Galilee He saw fishermen mending their nets He called them,
And they followed He called Simon,
Whom he named Peter He called Andrew,
James,
And John He called others,
Tax collectors,
Ordinary men He went through towns and villages He taught in synagogues He spoke of the kingdom of God He did not speak of it as distant or unreachable He said it was near He spoke in parables Stories of seeds and soil,
Of lamps and light Of lost coins and found sheep He healed the sick He cleansed those who were unclean He cast out spirits He forgave sins Crowds gathered Some listened in wonder Some questioned quietly Some began to grow uneasy Once,
After a long day of teaching Jesus and his disciples crossed the water in a boat A storm rose The waves beat against the sides Jesus slept The disciples woke him,
Afraid He stood and spoke to the wind and the sea And there was calm They looked at one another and asked Who then is this?
Jesus continued on He taught compassion He taught mercy He taught love for God and love for neighbor And still,
Quietly,
The story was only beginning Part 2 Teachings,
Healings,
And the widening way The days passed quietly Yet the sound of Jesus' teaching began to travel People spoke of him in villages and on roads They told one another what they had seen The healings The calm authority of his voice The way he looked at people as though he truly saw them Jesus went up onto hillsides He sat by the sea He entered synagogues And wherever he went,
People gathered He taught them slowly He spoke of blessings that did not sound like the world's blessings He said,
The poor in spirit were blessed He said,
The gentle were blessed He said,
Those who mourn would be comforted He said,
Those who hungered for righteousness would be filled He told them not to store up treasures where moth and rust destroy He told them not to be anxious about tomorrow He told them to pray simply He spoke of forgiveness Of forgiving others as one hopes to be forgiven He spoke of love Even love for enemies The people listened Some were comforted Some were unsettled Jesus healed many He touched those others would not touch He spoke words that restored bodies and minds Blind eyes opened He said,
Those who could not walk stood again Those long isolated were returned to their families Once,
A man covered with leprosy came to him and knelt Jesus reached out and touched him And the man was made clean Another time,
A group of friends lowered a paralyzed man through a roof so Jesus could see him Jesus forgave his sins Then,
He told him to rise and walk And he did The crowds grew larger Jesus ate with tax collectors and sinners Religious leaders watched closely They questioned his authority They asked why he healed on the Sabbath They asked why his disciples did not follow every custom Jesus answered them with stories He answered them with questions He spoke of mercy rather than sacrifice He chose twelve from among his followers He named them apostles He sent them out to teach and heal Telling them to travel lightly To rely on hospitality To speak peace When they returned,
They told him all they had done Jesus withdrew with them to rest But the people followed Seeing the crowds,
Jesus had compassion on them They were like sheep without a shepherd He taught them through the day As evening came,
The disciples worried there would not be enough food But Jesus took what was offered Five loaves and two fish And gave thanks Everyone ate All were satisfied What remained filled many baskets When the people saw this Some wanted to make him king by force Jesus withdrew again Alone to pray That night,
The disciples were crossing the water The wind was strong The waves rose Jesus came to them,
Walking on the sea They were afraid,
Thinking he was a ghost But he spoke,
And his voice was calm Do not be afraid Peter stepped out onto the water and began to sink Jesus caught him When they entered the boat,
The wind ceased Still,
Many did not understand Jesus continued to teach He spoke of seeds scattered on different kinds of ground He spoke of a mustard seed that grew into a great tree He spoke of hidden treasure and costly pearls He said the kingdom of God was like these things Quiet,
Growing,
Often unnoticed He spoke hard truths,
Too He warned against hypocrisy He said that what comes from the heart Matters more than outward appearance Some left him after hearing these words Others stayed When asked if the disciples would leave as well Peter said,
You have the words of eternal life Jesus traveled beyond Galilee He healed a woman whose faith had endured many years of suffering He restored a child to life He welcomed those from outside Israel And yet,
Opposition grew Religious leaders began to seek a way to silence him They questioned him publicly,
Hoping to trap him They watched him closely Jesus spoke more plainly to his disciples now He told them he would suffer He told them he would be rejected He told them he would be killed and rise again They did not understand As time passed,
Jesus turned his face toward Jerusalem He knew what awaited him there And still he went Jesus and his disciples went up toward Jerusalem As they traveled,
He spoke to them along the road He told them again that suffering awaited him That he would be handed over That he would be mocked,
Beaten,
And killed And that he would rise They listened,
But did not yet understand When they came near the city,
Jesus sent two disciples ahead They brought back a young donkey,
Just as he had said Jesus rode into Jerusalem People spread cloaks on the road Others cut branches and laid them before him They shouted words of praise,
Calling him king The city stirred Some rejoiced Some watched in silence Some grew fearful Jesus went to the temple He taught there He drove out those who were exploiting the poor He spoke openly,
And the leaders heard him Each day he taught Each night he withdrew to pray The religious authorities spoke among themselves They looked for a way to arrest him quietly Without causing an uproar among the people As Passover approached,
Jesus gathered his disciples He knew the time had come They prepared a room They reclined together at the table During the meal,
Jesus took bread He blessed it He broke it and gave it to them He took a cup and gave thanks He shared it with them He told them these things mattered That they would remember He spoke of betrayal One of them would hand him over The disciples were troubled They asked who it would be Jesus spoke quietly Judas left the room After they had eaten,
They sang a hymn together Then they went out to the Mount of Olives As they walked,
Jesus told them they would fall away That fear would scatter them Peter insisted he would remain faithful Jesus looked at him gently And told him that before the rooster crowed Peter would deny him three times They came to a garden called Gethsemane Jesus asked most of the disciples to wait He took Peter,
James,
And John farther in He began to feel sorrow and distress He asked them to stay awake and watch Then he went a little farther and prayed He prayed honestly He asked that the cup might pass from him And yet he submitted himself fully to God When he returned,
The disciples were sleeping He woke them and asked them to watch Again he went to pray Again he returned Again they slept While he was still speaking,
A crowd arrived Judas led them Jesus was arrested The disciples fled Jesus was taken through the night He was questioned He was mocked False witnesses spoke against him Peter followed at a distance When questioned,
He denied knowing Jesus Once,
Twice,
Three times The rooster crowed Peter remembered He wept At dawn,
Jesus was brought before the Roman governor,
Pilate Pilate questioned him and found no guilt deserving death But the crowd was stirred They demanded crucifixion Pilate handed Jesus over Jesus was beaten A crown of thorns was pressed upon his head He was mocked as king He was made to carry his cross Along the way,
His strength failed A man named Simon was compelled to help him carry it Women wept as they followed Jesus spoke to them,
Telling them not to weep for him They came to a place called Golgotha,
The place of the skull There,
Jesus was crucified Two others were crucified with him One on either side The soldiers divided his garments They cast lots An inscription was placed above him Written in multiple languages Jesus of Nazareth,
King of the Jews People passed by and mocked him Leaders scoffed Soldiers jeered One of the criminals insulted him The other spoke in defense and asked to be remembered Jesus answered him with mercy As the hours passed,
Darkness came over the land Jesus spoke words of forgiveness He spoke words of care He cried out in anguish Finally he said,
It is finished He breathed his last breath The earth shook and the moment soon passed into silence A centurion standing nearby said,
Truly this man was righteous Jesus' body was taken down It was wrapped and placed in a tomb A stone was rolled across the entrance The Sabbath began and the city rested The morning,
The way opened And the lasting presence The Sabbath passed in quiet The city rested The tomb remained sealed Those who loved Jesus waited in grief and uncertainty Before dawn,
On the first day of the week,
Women went to the tomb They carried spices They walked while the sky was still dim Speaking softly to one another Wondering who would roll the stone away When they arrived,
The stone had already been moved The tomb was open They went inside and did not find the body They were afraid They stood uncertain Then angels spoke to them They were told not to fear They were told that Jesus had risen Just as he had said They ran to tell the others Some did not believe them at first Mary Magdalene remained near the tomb,
Weeping She looked inside again She turned and saw a man standing nearby But she did not recognize him He spoke her name And then she knew Jesus told her to go and tell the others So she did Later that day,
Two disciples were walking to a village called Emmaus They spoke together about all that had happened The arrest,
The crucifixion,
The empty tomb Jesus came near and walked with them Though they did not recognize him He listened as they spoke He explained the scriptures to them Showing how these things had been foretold When they reached the village,
They urged him to stay As they ate together,
He took bread,
Blessed it,
And broke it And then they recognized him He vanished from their sight They said to one another that their hearts had burned within them As he spoke along the way That evening,
The disciples gathered behind locked doors They were afraid Jesus came and stood among them He said,
Peace be with you He showed them his hands and his side He spoke with them He ate with them They rejoiced Still,
Some doubted Thomas was not with them at first When he heard their words,
He struggled to believe Later,
Jesus came again He invited Thomas to see and touch Thomas believed Jesus remained with them for many days He spoke to them about the kingdom of God He reminded them of what he had taught He told them to forgive He told them to love He met them by the sea He shared a meal with them there He spoke with Peter,
Who had denied him He asked him three times if he liked him Before he left them,
Jesus gathered his followers together He told them to go into all the world
