I had one prayer growing up.
It followed me in all of my relationships.
I didn't know exactly what I was praying for back then,
But I did know that everyone I knew did not possess it.
There was a big part of me that desired strongly to be able to look up to an individual and find inspiration.
I held a lingering sense of embarrassment within my family and friend groups that I found very difficult to navigate.
Those pestering energies that nag at you throughout your life aren't so much an unmet need that you carry.
But little puzzle pieces of your story that you get to look back on.
Oddly,
It wasn't until I started to inspire that I finally found inspiration.
It wasn't until I started to break those embarrassment initiations that I began to break shame and guilt patterns.
It was almost like spirit had it written in the sky in big bold letters.
All the ways in which these energies would have a big impact on my life.
I lost my mother when my children were babies.
And it was a painful loss of a grandmother and family matriarch.
But this was also the time when I received my most beautiful healings.
My circle of mothers grew strong around me.
Mature women,
Wise women.
Women who loved,
Nurtured,
And connected.
Mother figures that were sent to me in a beautiful parade of supporting moments.
When all my thoughts were never again,
Were replaced by forever and always.
Love is everywhere and it is endless.
I have curated a life for myself with women who are full of inspiration,
Who nurture,
Who I look up to,
A prayer that has been answered for me time and time again,
A manifestation that I have held within my heart since I was a little girl,
But only came into fruition because I became the inspiration.
I became a mother.
And a mother to the motherless.
Every unmet need and energy that I ever prayed for was already within me.
This is what is known in the spiritual realm as becoming.
Toni Morrison once wrote.
If there is a book that you want to read.
And it hasn't been written yet,
Then you must write it.
The moment I understood the concept of becoming,
Was the exact moment I knew that I could change my life forever.
