Welcome.

Please come to a comfortable seated position.

Let your spine be tall.

Relax your shoulders and take a few deep belly breaths.

As you breathe deep into the belly,

Feel your body calm and at ease.

Feel your mind calm and at ease.

In this meditation,

We will do mantra japa,

Repetitions of a mantra to help us increase our power of knowledge,

Clarity,

And wisdom.

Rest your hands in your lap.

You might close your eyes or turn your gaze down.

The mantra we will repeat today is om maha vidyaye namaha.

Om maha vidyaye namaha.

Om is the universal sound.

Maha means great.

Vidyaye is knowledge.

Namaha is in reference to.

Om and salutations to the great power of knowledge.

May you grow our ability to know,

To be clear,

And to be wise.

We will repeat this 54 times together.

You can join me out loud,

Whisper,

Or you can just listen.

Before we begin,

Take a few moments to settle on an intention.

In what way would you like your knowledge,

Your wisdom,

And your clarity to grow through the repetition of this mantra?

Feel into the body,

Into the mind.

And if an intention arises,

You might make a note of it and dedicate our repetitions to that intention.

Relaxing the body,

We will begin.

Om maha vidyaye namaha.

Take a few deep breaths and let the energy and the resonance of that mantra settle into the body,

Into the energy field.

We'll take a short,

Quiet meditation.

Invite your intention for this mantra back into your mind as we sit in this meditation.

Deepen your breath and bring your hands together and rub the hands at your heart and press the thumbs to your heart space.

And very gently bow your head to the energy and the power of great knowledge.
