A Wooftastic Walk by Anna Scoils Maisie loved walking.
She loved walking along the beach best of all,
But she lived nowhere near the seaside.
So she had to settle for walking by the river,
Which wasn't quite the same,
But it was still nice to be by the water.
It was her favourite place to go and her walks were her favourite thing to do,
Other than spend time with animals.
She decided it was time to go for a nice walk by the river because she was feeling a bit sad.
Going on one of her walks usually cheered her up.
She liked to look at the trees and watch the birds and notice the people and different breeds of dogs walking with their owners.
Maisie hadn't got a dog of her own.
She'd only ever had cats,
But she did like dogs too.
As she started on her walk,
She noticed a very cute little dog walking towards her.
The dog wasn't on a lead.
The little dog started running to her,
Making a cute little noise as she got closer.
Hello,
She said to the dog,
And Maisie bent down to let the dog sniff her hand.
Once the dog had accepted her,
Maisie stroked the dog's fuzzy little head as the dog happily wagged her tail.
Aren't you cute?
She told her new dog friend.
I haven't seen you before,
She continued to sell her as she stroked her on the head.
A man arrived and joined them.
He was the little dog's owner.
Maisie recognised him straight away.
It was her dentist.
Hi Maisie,
Nice to see you,
He said.
This is my dog Pixie.
We're going for a walk along the river,
If you'd like to join us.
Yes,
I would,
Said Maisie,
And she walked beside them as little Pixie jumped for joy and let out a little grumble when she realised that Maisie was going to join them.
The sun came out and they had a lovely walk together along by the riverside.
Maisie hoped that she would see her new friends again.
The end.
