Welcome and thank you for joining our 5th meditation in the 5 Element Mudra series. My name is Sara and I will be offering guided meditations and mudra methods to enhance our awareness of the five elements within our body and the 5 elements within our natural surroundings. In each Mudra introduction, we will review the origins and the philosophy of mudras and their corresponding meditation practices. Take some time to write down your mudra and its methods so you may practice on your own. Consider making time for your self-study and explore the five elements with mudra, movement, and sound meditation on your own with these recordings, or follow your heart to a solo retreat or group wellness immersion with us here in the Hudson Valley and beyond. You are invited to listen to one, some, or all 5 element mudra meditations. The 5th element in our 5-element mudra series is the space element.

The qualities of space are expansion,

Freedom,

Communication,

And subtleness.

The space element is related to the sense of hearing and the nervous system,

And the feeling of unity and spaciousness.

The Akash Mutra is said to create a space of healing within the body by facilitating the flow of prana in and outside of ourselves.

It does away with the feeling of heaviness in the body,

Provides comfort in a spiritual sense.

This Mutra is said to assist with relieving anger,

Sorrow,

Fears,

Untruthfulness,

And brings us to higher states of consciousness,

Aiding us in meditation,

Enhancing our intuitive powers and alertness.

Sometimes this Mutra can bring the practitioner to experience vibrations at the top of the scalp.

The Crown Chakra Sit in a meditative posture.

Bring your middle finger to the tip of your thumb and extend the remaining fingers.

Bring your hands to the lap or to the sides of the body,

Palms or face up.

Maintain an easy breathing practice.

You may have eyes open or closed.

As long as your spine is straight,

Maintain your meditation as long as you like,

Inhaling and exhaling fully.

When you complete your meditation,

You may release your Mutra,

Take another deep inhale,

Long exhale,

Bring your hands to your heart center.

Sit up even taller,

One more deep breath and as you exhale you can lower your head or lower your eyes,

Giving yourself gratitude,

Peace.

Thank you for practicing this Mutra with me today.

I look forward to practicing with you again.
