The other side of someday.
I want to get to the other side of someday,
Where the streets are paved with truth,
Where it doesn't hurt so much to walk on this path of broken trust.
My souls are cut and calloused,
And my body aches with regret.
I want to sit and rest a while,
Just to catch my breath,
To soften the scars around my soul,
To stabilize my heart and steady my mind with peace and love and ease and grace.
It's hard to get up and walk again,
But I know I must,
To face the fears of darkness my shadow side has made.
The other side of someday is near,
It's across the street from somewhere,
Where the grass is green as honesty,
And the sky shines bright with clarity.
On the way is intention,
Where the roads are paved with integrity as far as you can see.
Honesty fills the clouds,
And rain falls freely to gently heal the tears of disappointments past.
I need to find this place where words are ripe with truth,
And honor blooms with abandon.
It's out there,
So I've heard.
A place where hope fills the trees and the wind blows freely to clear the broken promises of yesterday.
So I journey inward and seek this love that I have within.
One breath at a time,
I've been told it takes.
Maybe my heart can show me the way to the other side of someday,
Where I am whole and free and complete.
