Hello, My name is Keri Suwal. I am a Reiki Master here on Insight Timer. And right now, I'd love to talk to you about giving Reiki. How do we give this life force energy to ourselves and to others? It is this act of divine love and compassion, And we are surrendering ourselves to this flow to use it for the good of others, Always with a pure heart and a positive intention. Now you may have been giving Reiki already without even knowing it because your thoughts are energy. So if you have a kind thought for someone, A wish, A prayer, A blessing that you've thought or you've written down, Reiki is already happening. All we need is an intention. And in Reiki we call that an invocation, Which is essentially a really potent, Powerful, Clear intention. Often we can say things like, I wish to send this person loving energy that supports them in their highest good. May they release anything that is not serving them. Simply with those words that intention, Reiki has begun. The next step in giving Reiki is to fully surrender. It's not something we force. It's not something we push. It's something we allow. And we become this lovely conduit or this funnel for the universe to share its abundant, Infinite energy through you towards someone else or directly to yourself, If that's where you're wanting it to go. How do we surrender? We relax. We relax our mind, We relax our body, And we move into a state of trust, Knowing that we've done our part, We've stated our intention, And now we let the universe do its work through us. Because you are one with the universe, Not separate. So it's still kind of you doing the work, Just not through the mind. Another way we can do this is through visualization. And a lovely way is to visualize light coming from the universe or coming up from the earth and moving through you towards that person in need. You can picture a color or a white light. This is a lovely way, Especially if we have a really busy mind and we can't fully relax or surrender into the process. Then we can bring in that tool of visualization to help aid our mind in really trusting and surrendering that process of sharing beautiful endless energy with someone in need.
