Hello,

I'm Katya Vasconcelos,

And I'm so glad that you're here.

Today we're talking about something that brings up a lot of stuff for a lot of people,

So you're not alone if that resonates with you.

We're talking about desires,

Or dreams,

Wants,

Whatever you want to call them.

They're just words anyway,

What matters is how they connect you,

Or not,

To what feels real and true for you at a soul level.

Let's be honest here,

Desires can feel complicated.

Some say you should let go of them entirely because they can lead to frustration.

Others tell you to go after what you want,

No matter what.

And maybe you've even felt that wanting things is somehow wrong,

Like it makes you selfish or greedy.

But here is what I think.

I think the balance is somewhere in between.

Not all desires are the same,

And that's where it gets really interesting.

Some desires come from a place of fear or scarcity.

These are the I-have-to-prove-myself or I-need-to-keep-up kinds of desires.

They feel heavy and urgent,

And even when you achieve them,

They often leave you feeling unfulfilled,

Unsatisfied,

If that's a real word anyway.

Then there are the desires that come from your soul,

The ones that feel like they're pulling you toward growth and joy.

These are about what lights you up and makes you feel most alive.

Maybe it's creating something meaningful like art or a project.

Maybe it's deepening a relationship or spending more time in nature.

These desires feel expansive,

Like they're leading you closer to your true self or your total self or your spiritual self.

Take a moment to reflect.

Is there something you've been wanting lately that feels light and exciting?

Or is there something that feels more like an obligation or pressure or I should be doing this?

Just noticing the difference is a big first step.

Now let's look at those dormant desires,

The ones buried under the noise of daily life or hidden behind self-doubt.

These desires might feel far away or even impossible,

But that doesn't mean they're not worth exploring.

Here's the question.

Are you willing to embrace them?

Sometimes the most worthwhile desires are the ones that push you beyond your current limits.

And hey,

Maybe you're thinking,

But what if I don't even know what I want?

That's okay.

It happens to all of us,

Including me.

If you're not sure what you truly want,

One way to find clarity is by recognizing what you don't want.

Sometimes it's easier to start there.

For example,

You might realize,

I don't want to live in a big city anymore.

Maybe the noise and fast pace feel overwhelming.

That clarity about what you don't want can guide you toward what you do want if you kind of change the angle to explore it that way.

Perhaps you would prefer a quieter,

Smaller place where the air feels fresh and life feels calmer or more connected to nature.

Would you enjoy being near the sea or perhaps somewhere inland?

How far would you want to be from the people you care about and you see regularly?

Could your work allow you the freedom to live anywhere you choose?

Take your time exploring.

No pressure.

No rush.

Recognizing what you don't want can be just as powerful as discovering what you do want if you start looking at that kind of option.

And then give yourself permission to want things.

Ask yourself,

Do I pay attention to what I truly want?

Do I dismiss my desires as silly or maybe selfish?

Do I like my reason for wanting what I want?

If your reason feels right,

That's all that matters.

You don't need to justify your dreams to anyone.

They're yours.

Now,

Let's be honest.

Are you giving in to fear or are you honoring your dreams?

Fear often sounds like doubt.

It says things like,

Oh,

What if I fail?

Or,

Who am I to want this?

But here's a challenge for you.

What if you flipped that script?

Instead of letting fear hold you back,

What if you chose to trust your dreams instead?

Now,

Take a moment to tune in.

If it feels right,

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in.

And out.

Picture yourself now in a calm,

Open space.

A place where you feel safe and free to dream.

Now ask yourself,

What does my soul truly want?

Not what's practical or expected,

But what feels real and true for you.

Notice what comes up.

A feeling?

A word?

Maybe an image?

If nothing comes to mind or to your heart,

That's okay.

Sometimes the answers take time.

Just asking the question is very powerful.

And then just stay open and watch the space for when the answer does come.

After the session,

I invite you to spend at least 10 minutes journaling.

Ask yourself,

What do I truly want?

How committed am I to honoring that desire?

What's one small step I can take toward it today?

You don't need to have all the answers right now.

The goal is to start the process and build that connection with your true self.

So here's the bottom line.

Your desires,

Dreams,

Or whatever you want to call them,

Are a gift.

They are not random and they are not frivolous.

They are here to guide you,

To help you grow,

And to connect you with your total self,

Or the version of yourself that can do and be and experience so much more.

So,

What could happen if you gave yourself permission to fully honor your desires?

How might your life feel if you stopped holding back?

Thank you for spending this time with me,

And remember to listen to your heart,

Trust your journey,

And keep showing up for what matters most to you.

Until next time,

Take care and don't forget to allow yourself to want,

To desire.

That's what we're here for.

To explore,

Experiment,

Grow,

And evolve.

To become more of who we truly are by embracing our dreams.
