“Don’t surrender your feelings of _____ so quickly…”
In my case? We can begin with…
Dread.
Horror.
Anxiety.
Apprehension.
Depression.
Disillusionment.
Disgust.
Somehow, though, at some point, then moving through and feeling those feelings—“letting them cut” so very deeply, such that there’s a slight pivot, a glimmer of what could be seen as
Burgeoning resolve.
Defiance, even…
And, then, ultimately, turning into…
Fiery determination,
and, finally: to
Cautious, tentative, slender wisps of hope…
These are the things (and more) that I’m feeling as our last, best chance in America approaches next month for us to collectively stop the momentum of our national suicide—to perhaps regain our national character, morality, integrity, values, humanity, and unwaving regard for the rule of law.
