Sometimes when I'm really tired,
I have trouble falling asleep.
But I have a super secret trick for relaxing my body and falling asleep super duper fast.

Okay.
The first thing I do is I change the TV channel in my head.
Yep,
I have a TV in my head.
The TV in my mind is where all of my dreams play out when I close my eyes.
Do you want to try?
Great.
Okay,
Close your eyes tight.
Mom too.
You can watch whatever you want to watch on the TV in your mind because it shows things from your imagination.
You can imagine the most wonderful things on your TV screen.
I like to imagine a whole playground made of candy where the bark on the trees are made of chocolate and the leaves are made of little green gummy bears.
At my candy playground,
I can climb up on the jungle gym because it's made entirely of red licorice.
I can run across the bridges that allow me to cross over a whole river that's filled with melted chocolate.
And I can even go down the giant rainbow slide that's made from sour straws.
I love my candy park.
Whenever I have trouble falling asleep,
I like to visit my candy park.
And if I ever want to change the channel,
Like instead of going to my candy park,
If I wanted to play in the warm sand at my imaginary beach,
All I have to do to get there is to take three slow deep breaths.

Okay,
It's really easy.
Here's what you do.
Oh,
Close your eyes.
Take a big deep breath in and hold your breath and then breathe out like a fire-breathing dragon.
Oh,
That was so good.
Okay,
Two more times just like that.
Big deep breath in and out.
Wow,
You're really good at this.
Okay,
One more.
Big deep breath in and out.
Now that you know how to change the channel on the TV in your mind,
I guess you're ready to create a dreamland of your own.
All you have to do is close your eyes tight and wait for the show to start.
