Are you ready to meditate with Kari?
Are you ready to be very,
Very,
Very still and super quiet as you lay in your bed?
Try and relax your body and let go of your day as you listen to the story all about Heidi Cherry and Veya going to the park.
Noah was seven.
He was almost eight.
One of the things he liked to do was take his dog,
Everest,
Who was a very cute girl,
And take his cat,
Troy,
Who was a very handsome boy.
Sometimes when he went to the park,
He would meet new animals that Troy and Everest could play with.
And sometimes he would meet new friends himself,
New boys or new girls that he could play with.
On this particular occasion,
He met three cats,
Three girl cats,
One called Heidi,
One called Cherry and one called Veya.
He instantly liked the cats and so did Everest and Troy.
They were all playing on the different things in the park together when Cherry said,
You know,
Noah,
It's so nice to meet you and Troy,
You're so nice and friendly and very,
Very handsome.
And you know,
You know Everest,
You are a very nice girl dog and you're very sweet and kind and very funny.
And we're so glad that we're now friends with you both.
Actually,
Friends with all three of you.
And Veya is very happy,
Aren't you Veya?
Veya said,
Mm hmm.
Me always likes to meet new friends.
And you're happy,
Aren't you too?
Heidi,
You're very happy,
Aren't you?
Heidi said,
Yes,
I'm very happy.
We always like to come to the park and meet new friends.
Noah said,
So do I.
Sometimes it's a bit busy and I don't really like it.
If it's too busy and there's too many people here,
I get so I don't feel that comfortable.
Cherry said,
What do you mean,
Noah?
Noah said,
Well,
Sometimes I get shy.
Cherry said,
You know,
I do too.
You know,
You wouldn't think it.
You would not think it because I'm so outgoing and I'm so popular and I'm so like,
You know,
Just good at everything.
I'm amazing really.
You'll get to know Noah.
You'll get to know I'm so good and I'm so amazing and I'm so entertaining and I'm so funny.
Aren't I funny guys?
Aren't I funny?
Cherry looked at both her sisters and both her sisters nodded that Cherry was very funny.
Noah said,
Well,
I can be funny.
Cherry said,
You can?
Oh,
Well,
Me and you is going to get on so much and look,
We have so much in common already.
We can be shy around crowds and we're both really funny.
How about that then?
What about you,
Troy?
Are you funny?
Troy,
The cat,
Just kind of meowed and said sometimes.
Cherry said,
Oh,
So mysterious,
Isn't she?
She looked at Heidi.
She was thinking for some reason,
Maybe Heidi would like Troy.
While Cherry was chatting away,
She didn't notice that Troy and Veir kept smiling at each other.
It seemed like they were getting on very well.
Cherry went on and on,
Anyway,
Yeah,
Yeah,
You sound so nice,
Troy,
And so,
You know,
Approachable.
She kept looking at Heidi.
Heidi didn't really understand what Cherry was doing and didn't pick up on it at all.
Veir,
In the meantime,
Said,
Troy,
Would you like to go over there and go and hang out on the swings?
Troy said,
Yes,
Yes,
I would.
That's when Troy and Veir went over to play on the swings.
Cherry looked at Noah and Everest and she said,
Oh,
Oh,
Right then,
All right then.
Well,
Noah,
You tell me more about being shy and I'll tell you more about when I'm shy.
You know what I do when I'm shy,
Noah?
Sometimes I imagine that half of the people around me aren't even there,
Like a magic trick,
You know,
Like as if you went abracadabra and you did like a magic wand and they just disappeared.
Sometimes I do that and then that's good because then all I do is just focus on like two or three people around me and just talk to them and not really worry about everybody else because they disappeared because I did a magic trick.
And then sometimes another thing that I do when I feel really shy is I just listen and I don't pressure myself to talk so much,
Even though most of the time,
Noah,
You'll get to find out that I do like to talk and generally I do feel very comfortable.
It's just sometimes,
Don't you think,
Noah,
Sometimes in a crowd or sometimes around certain people,
You just get a little bit nervous,
Don't you?
I know you won't believe it looking at me because you'd think I was so perfect because I know you can tell already,
Can't you?
Everest,
Can you tell?
Can you tell already that I'm just like so outgoing and so funny and just so awesome?
But can you tell I'm a little bit nervous sometimes?
She looked at Everest the dog and Everest said,
Ruff!
And didn't really say anything else.
Cherry said,
Right then.
Yeah.
What do you think,
Noah?
Do you think you can tell that sometimes I get just a little bit nervous,
Even though I'm so awesome?
Noah looked at Cherry with quite an intense,
Thoughtful expression on his face as if he was really,
Really trying to see the nervousness that she could possibly have inside of her.
He was having a hard time with it because she was really loud and quite outgoing and very,
Very talkative,
He thought.
But then,
You know,
It takes all sorts of people,
He thought.
I'm funny.
I'm awesome.
I'm like,
You know,
A cool kid.
But even I get nervous.
So maybe Cherry,
This cat,
Is the same way.
Cherry said,
You can see it,
Can't you?
You can,
You can see it.
You can see that I'm like that.
Thank goodness.
I knew me and you were going to be friends,
Noah.
I knew it.
I knew we were going to be so much friends.
We'll be lifelong friends and get to be friends forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever.
Don't you think,
Everest?
Don't you think me,
You and Noah,
We're going to be friends forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever?
And you know,
Faea and Troy,
Well,
It looks like they're getting on so well.
And Heidi,
Oh,
Heidi,
Tell them what you do sometimes when you get like a little bit nervous or a little bit shy or a little bit uncomfortable.
Heidi has this awesome thing that she does.
Tell them what you do.
Heidi pulled around her backpack that she had on that particular day when they went to the park.
She opened her backpack and emptied the contents of the backpack on the grass.
There was a big giant bag of Lego.
Noah looked very happy about this.
I like Lego.
So do I.
And sometimes I like to just bring Lego to the park just in case I want a minute to myself and I can sit down and build something with my Lego.
I'm playing at the park.
I'm outside.
I'm in nature.
I can hear everyone playing and laughing and having fun,
But I don't have to be in the middle of it.
I can just sit and play with my Lego.
Cherry said,
See,
I told you,
She's so smart,
You know,
Heidi.
Heidi's my sister and she's like the smartest cat in the entire world,
Noah.
She's so smart.
Everest,
She's so smart.
And you know,
And you know,
It's a really good idea,
Don't you think?
Like if you go somewhere sometimes and you're just like feeling a little bit uncomfortable or a little bit nervous,
Pull out Lego out of your backpack and just like sit down and play with your Lego and you can bet that somebody like,
Somebody like Heidi who would go,
I like Lego.
Shall we play together?
See,
See,
Wouldn't you,
Heidi?
Heidi said,
Yeah,
I would,
Noah.
I'd say,
Would you like to play with my Lego,
Noah?
And Noah,
You could say,
Would you like to play with my Lego?
And we could both play with each other's Lego and not worry about what's going on around us just for a while until we feel good about ourselves or about the situation.
And then,
You know,
We can just be ourselves for a bit.
Noah said,
I don't have a problem with being myself around people I know,
Or like smaller groups of people.
Heidi said,
I'm exactly the same.
Cherry said,
Yeah,
Me too.
Heidi and Noah gave each other a glance as if to say,
Is that really true?
But Cherry was insistent.
It's so true.
As if she knew she was questioned.
It's so true.
I feel like that too.
I do.
I feel like sometimes,
You know,
It's so nice to just be on your own.
Have like a little moment playing Lego or like just taking your time to like maybe have a moment to yourself and play with your video games or something.
Noah said,
Oh,
I like video games.
Cherry said,
I knew it.
I knew it.
Me too.
You know,
Me too.
We have so much in common,
Noah.
We're going to be so good friends.
I can feel it.
Do you come to the park often,
Noah?
Noah said,
Sometimes.
Yeah.
Cherry said,
Well,
You know what,
Noah?
You bring your cat and your dog because I really like both of them.
And it looks like they are and Troy are getting on like a house on fire.
She looked over at they are and Troy who was swinging on the swings,
Laughing and talking to each other and having a very deep looking conversation.
Like they were really getting along like,
Like a house on fire.
Cherry said,
You know,
What if they become boyfriend and girlfriend?
Noah said,
Oh,
Oh,
Heidi said,
Well,
You never know.
Cherry said,
I think they're too young.
Well,
I don't know how old Troy is,
But I think they are too young for boyfriends.
You know,
That's like when you get older,
Don't,
Well,
I don't know.
You can have a boyfriend that's just like a nice friend,
Can't you?
You don't have to have anything serious.
Noah said,
Who wants something serious?
Cherry said,
Exactly Noah.
Me and you,
We're so on the same page.
Me and you is going to be like the bestest of friends.
I can just feel it.
We can be like,
We can be happy together.
We can be outgoing together.
We can be so funny together because we're so funny.
We can be like,
You know,
Shy together if we want to be shy because you know what?
Embrace what you are,
Noah,
Because you know,
We have all different kinds of moods,
Don't we?
No one can be happy all the time,
Can they,
Heidi?
Heidi said,
No,
That's very true.
It's good to be yourself.
And if you feel like being shy or you feel like being quiet or you just feel like being funny and hilarious,
Then we should be able to do all of them.
So true,
Said Cherry.
So true,
Heidi,
So true.
Yeah,
I'm a very big believer on just being yourself.
You know,
Being yourself,
Loving yourself,
Thinking you're awesome.
Do you think you're awesome,
Noah?
Noah said,
Hmm,
Sometimes.
No,
Wrong answer,
Said Cherry.
Noah,
You're supposed to say yes all the time because you are awesome all the time,
Right?
Even if you're in a quiet mood,
You're still awesome.
Even if you're being angry,
You're still awesome.
Even if you're being very annoying and too funny,
Too funny,
Is it possible?
I don't think so.
But you know,
Some people think you're just being too funny.
Then yeah,
You're still awesome,
Said that,
Right,
Noah?
Noah,
Do you think you're awesome?
Noah said,
Yes,
Cherry,
I do.
He sounded very convincing.
Cherry was impressed.
Yes,
That's it,
Noah.
That's the kind of confidence that we need.
You're awesome,
You're embracing it,
And you can be whatever you want to be.
That's the shit.
You know what?
Instead of OMG on my t-shirt,
Heidi,
I think I need a new t-shirt.
I need a new slogan that says,
Be whatever you want to be.
Or,
You're awesome.
That would be a good one that just says that in big letters.
You're awesome.
Or like even,
I'm awesome.
So the people that are reading it can say,
I'm awesome,
When they read it,
And they go,
Yeah,
I'm awesome,
Actually,
I am.
Or when they say,
You're awesome,
They could go,
Oh,
Thank you,
When they read my t-shirt and it says,
You're awesome on it,
Noah,
You could wear one too.
And then I would read your t-shirt and it would say,
You're awesome,
And I would say,
Thanks,
Noah,
I am.
And you could read my t-shirt,
My t-shirt would say,
You're awesome.
And you would read it and you would go,
Thanks,
Cherry.
Well,
You won't say it like me,
You go,
Thanks,
Cherry,
I am.
Was that good?
Did I sound like you,
Noah?
Noah said,
Yeah,
That sounded like me.
See,
I'm even good at impersonations.
I'm good at impersonating.
I'm good at being friends.
I'm good at being shy.
I'm good at being quiet.
I'm good at being so funny that you pee your pants.
I'm good at everything.
Noah,
Say you're good at everything.
Noah said,
I'm good at everything.
Gosh,
Me and you,
Noah,
We're so alike.
We're going to be the bestest of friends.
After a while,
The cats went home from the park.
Noah went home too.
He took Troy,
His cat,
And Everest,
The dog.
He had a very fun time at the park meeting his new friends.
Cherry and Heidi and Veya had a very fun time at the park meeting their new friends.
Veya was swooning around the bedroom as if she'd just met Prince Charming.
They talked and talked and talked for the longest time about how much fun Veya seemed to have with Troy.
And Cherry talked and talked and talked about how much she liked her new friend Noah.
And she thought Everest was a very nice dog.
And Heidi liked everyone too.
It was a very good day,
A very nice day.
It's always nice to make new friends,
Especially friends that understand you,
Friends that you can feel comfortable with.
Now,
It's time to snuggle down and close your eyes,
Listen to the music for a while,
Relax your body,
And have the bestest,
Bestest dreams.
