Are you ready to meditate with Kari?
Climb up into your bed and get super comfortable.
Make sure that everything is just right in your room,
The light is just right,
You're wearing your cosy,
Comfy pyjamas and all is well in the world so that you can relax your body and let go of your busy,
Busy day.
Heidi,
Cherry and Veya had gone over to Tucker and Leo's house.
They'd gone over because it had been a while since they'd become human.
When they got there,
Tucker went straight outside.
No messing around.
I'm going outside Leo,
I'm going to go get my thingy and we're going to go and we're going to be humans and it's going to be a fun,
Fun night.
That's what Tucker said.
He went on to the back garden and he started to dig for a stone right there by the Buddha statue.
He came across the stone quite easily,
Held it up to the sunlight,
Brushed off the dirt.
The sun started to shine through his white stone,
Making the golden veins light up.
He stared at the stone and watched as his angel appeared in the stone.
There she was,
Just hovering in the sky,
The big,
Beautiful wings.
She smiled down at him and said,
You get one wish,
Just one wish.
Tucker said,
Oh,
It's time to be human again.
My friends have come over.
It's time to be human.
But I think it's going to be a very fun night.
But there's something funny going on,
You know,
I'm not quite sure what.
I can only say it because Cherry was just a little bit quiet today.
She wasn't as loud as she normally is.
And I was like,
What's going on with Cherry?
But then I didn't say anything because,
You know,
It's nice when Cherry's not loud.
The angel didn't say anything.
By the time Tucker got back to the house,
The back door,
To get in to the kitchen where everyone was,
He'd already become human.
He was wearing a black suit,
A white shirt and a black tie with black formal shoes.
Oh,
He said as he looked down.
This is quite fancy.
Then he looked up.
Leo had a black suit on with a white shirt and a black tie.
He looked at the girls.
Veya was wearing a black dress,
A black headband,
Black flat slip-on shoes and black ankle socks.
She had a big black bow around the middle of her tummy.
And the bottom part of her dress stood out quite wide and fluffy.
Heidi was wearing a black pinafore dress with a long black sleeve t-shirt underneath.
And some black Doc Martin boots.
She had black glasses on today.
And Cherry was wearing a black pencil skirt with a black shirt and some black converse.
She had her hair in a ponytail with a black scrunchie.
Everyone looked at each other.
And that's when Cherry realised what was happening.
Oh,
And Jay.
I think we've got to go to Grandad Walter's funeral.
Heidi looked at Cherry.
Veya looked at Heidi and Cherry.
Tucker and Leo looked a little bit confused.
Until Cherry said,
Grandad Walter died last week.
It's his funeral today.
I didn't think we'd have to go,
You know,
I really didn't.
I thought we were going to get to stay at home.
But I just knew it.
I just knew it in me bones.
I knew it.
That's why we had to come over and change into being human.
I'm sorry,
Guys,
But it's time to go to a funeral.
Tucker said.
It's okay,
Cherry.
We're here.
We'll go wherever you need us to.
Leo said.
Yeah,
Yeah,
Exactly.
Come on,
Let's go.
The kids drove to the funeral in a big SUV so that they could all be together,
With Cherry's mum and dad in the front.
When they got out,
They had to walk into a big building.
Grandad Walter was going to be cremated.
It looked like a church,
But it wasn't as formal as a church.
But it was really,
Really big.
Luckily,
It was big because there was hundreds of people there to say goodbye to Grandad Walter.
There was people outside that couldn't get in,
That couldn't be seated.
Grandad Walter was loved by a lot of people.
He was always friendly.
Had lots of friends.
Loved to go fishing.
Had so many fishing buddies.
He loved to go and spend time with his friends in the pub.
He had so many pub friends.
He loved to go on long walks in nature.
And when he walked,
He always said,
Good morning,
Good afternoon,
Good evening.
And he always made friends.
So all of those friends and more,
And tons of family members,
Were all there at Grandad Walter's funeral.
And now Heidi,
Cherry,
And Veya were also there to say goodbye to their grandad.
When they got inside and they all took a seat,
They sat next to Grandma Pat.
She was known as Nanan.
Pat was Grandad Walter's wife,
And she chose some really cool music for them.
It was music that they used to play when they were caught in when they were young.
Patsy Cline.
Patsy Cline was playing in the funeral home.
And everyone was sat around,
Talking about how awesome Grandad Walter was,
And how much he would be missed.
Heidi,
Cherry,
And Veya surrounded Nanan Pat.
They leaned on her,
Held her hand,
And gave her hugs.
Tucker and Leo sat next to Veya,
Not too far away from where Grandma Nanan Pat was.
So many people talked at the funeral.
Funny stories,
And everyone laughed.
One older guy got up and told a story,
And he made everyone laugh and clap.
And just for a minute,
It was like celebrating Grandad Walter.
It didn't feel sad.
It didn't feel sad because everyone was happy,
And they were laughing,
And they were joking.
They were enjoying the fact that Grandad Walter had been in their lives,
And they were so grateful and happy to know him.
After the funeral,
Everyone drove to this place that was like a club where there was food,
And everyone could eat and sit and just tell stories and talk about Grandad Walter.
Even more,
Be together,
Support each other,
And love each other.
And that was really nice.
Heidi,
Cherry,
And Veya,
Along with their friends,
Tucker and Leo,
Were sat at their own table.
They were talking about the fact that it's sad when people die.
Veya said,
It's very sad,
I know,
But it's also really beautiful because this is life,
Right?
Everything dies.
Everything dies.
That's a guarantee.
So,
I mean,
I think the problem is sometimes that everybody makes it so sad.
But it should be a celebration.
Heidi said,
Yeah,
Today,
When everybody was laughing and joking,
It felt like that,
It felt like a celebration.
It was really fun.
Cherry said,
OMG,
I know,
I loved it,
I loved it.
And I was sat there and I was thinking,
Grandad Walt,
He won't want everybody to be sad,
He'd want everybody to be happy.
He'd be like,
Stop your whining,
Stop your snivelling,
Come on,
Let's have some fun,
Let's celebrate.
And I was sat there and I was like,
I'm so glad that I'm here as a human and I get to experience this and actually be happy at a funeral.
I mean,
He lived a great life.
Grandad Walt was almost 90.
I mean,
That's awesome.
How lucky is that?
How lucky is it to live that long and have so many memories and so many friends and so much experience of life?
I mean,
It's just so cool.
Tucker said,
Yeah,
Right.
I hope I get to live that long.
Leo said,
Yeah,
I mean,
What more could you want?
And he was so healthy all the way to the end.
It was great,
Really.
He had an awesome life,
Said Leo.
Everyone agreed that he did.
And then everyone said,
Should we get some lemonade and a bag of crisps?
Grandad would have got us a lemonade and a bag of crisps.
He always used to do that when we used to go and see him at pub.
He'd get us a bottle of lemonade and a bag of crisps.
Everyone said,
Yeah,
That's a good idea.
Family members went to the bar and got them lemonades and bags of crisps.
And they went back to the table and sat and ate the crisps and drank the lemonade.
And they all told funny stories about Grandad Walt.
Do you remember that time when he caught that fish?
And it was so funny.
He was holding it up for a picture.
And then,
And then the fish just completely jumped out of his hands.
And he was like,
So shocked.
And he was stood there going,
Did you see that fish?
It was so funny.
Everyone laughed.
Grandad Walt was funny.
He was a really happy,
Funny person.
And no one wanted to be sad at his funeral.
Everybody was just so grateful that they got to be with him.
After they left the place where everybody joined and come together and ate and just celebrated Grandad Walt even more,
The cats left Tucker and Leos.
And by the time they got home,
They were cats again.
They went upstairs and had a really nice,
Long,
Warm shower.
They put on their comfortable pyjamas,
And then they hopped into their big,
Soft,
Comfortable cat bed.
They gave each other the bestest hugs.
Grandad Walt gave the bestest hugs.
He had a big,
Big,
Wobbly beer belly,
And he always pushed into you when he hugged you,
And it was so cuddly and it was just comforting.
And his big arms would wrap around you.
They told more stories.
They laughed some more.
No tears,
They just laughed.
And then eventually,
The cats fell fast asleep.
The end.
