Over 11 years ago,
I was battling my first bout of depression,
And feelings of hopelessness and despair were my constant companions.
And I remember one morning around that time,
Before I even knew about the law of attraction and manifestation,
I decided to put my heart's desires onto a blank piece of A4 paper.
I cut pictures from magazines which I had been collecting.
I found a photo of the gorgeous green rolling hills in the English countryside,
Another one illustrating me speaking in front of many people and sharing my work,
Attending sofa retreats and,
Of course,
Being happy with my husband,
Who was back then my fiancé.
After doing the practice I'm about to share with you for a few months,
An opportunity came along and gradually everything from my vision on that piece of paper turned from 2D into my new 3D reality.
It took me a while to realize that the only way to manifest the life you really wish for is to embody your heart's desires now.
In the present moment.
Not tomorrow,
When your fearful mind thinks it's the right time,
Or when it believes the correct door will open,
But right now,
When you consciously switch off and put down your digital distractions,
Your TV and mobile devices.
And then take a few deep breaths and drop your awareness into your heart space and ask it.
What is your boldest dream?
Not your parents' dream,
Not what society tells you what your life should look like,
But what calling you came here to fulfill.
Perhaps it's to inspire others through empowering books,
Landscape breathtaking gardens,
Cook exquisite meals,
Teach the young generation to believe in themselves and their dreams,
Or perhaps compose music that elevates humanity.
Listen to the whispers you will hear.
Perhaps they will be subtle to begin with,
But in that very moment an awakening will take place.
So grab a pen and paper and write down what you hear,
What you see in your mind's eye and what you feel in your heart.
Is it freedom,
Inspiration,
Joy,
Love,
Or perhaps simply a sense of calm?
And then ask yourself what is bringing those emotions.
Perhaps it is being on stage,
Writing a book,
Running your own company.
And then transfer your vision onto a poster.
Make it beautiful,
Color it,
Add pictures of your vision.
You could also add a few empowering quotes.
Make it bright,
Bold and inspiring.
And once it's ready,
Hang it somewhere where you'll be able to see it every day,
So that you can connect with your vision and the feelings you associate with it.
But don't wait for your dreams to come true so that you feel happy,
Calm or inspired.
Create pockets of time during your day when you allow yourself to feel those emotions.
For me,
It was writing that helped me channel my creativity.
Swimming in the outdoor pool brought a sense of freedom.
Paddling in the Mediterranean Sea connected me with the feeling of expansion.
And meditating soothed my nervous system and taught my body and mind that I was safe.
So think about your desired emotions and what activities can help you experience them now,
Before your desire is manifested.
Once you decide on these emotions,
Make sure you embody them daily.
Allow the body to feel safe,
Relaxed,
Joyful every single day.
And in those moments when you feel low and hopeless,
Especially those wobbly moments,
Come to your vision poster because it's those powerful feelings your vision carries that will pull you through those dark moments of despair.
It's those feelings and the internal image they create in your heart that will magnetize you and attract your manifestation faster.
