Hello,
I'm Rhys Jones,
And welcome to this sleep talk down and lucid dream incubation recording.
Today I'll be guiding you through the process of relaxing your mind,
Preparing yourself for sleep,
And then,
Once your mind space has been softened,
Sowing the seeds for a lucid dream later on in the night.
In this particular recording,
The sleep talk down theme will be a meta meditation,
And the lucid dream incubation theme will be exploring a ghost ship.
Please note you're free to fall asleep at any part of this recording,
So when you begin to feel tired,
Don't hesitate to follow that feeling.
If that happens during the sleep talk down,
That's fine.
If it doesn't happen until the lucid dream incubation,
That's also fine.
First and foremost,
Prioritize falling to sleep.
Do not wait for my permission to do so.
Follow my words until you begin to feel drowsy,
At which point,
Allow yourself to let go.
And gently drift away.
And so,
To begin,
Please turn off all of your lights.
Lay down on your bed,
And get into a position that you feel comfortable with.
Be it on your belly,
On your side,
Or on your back.
Whichever position you feel most comfortable in,
Adopt it now.
And then,
Make any final adjustments you need,
In order to feel fully settled.
For example,
Perhaps you'd like to fluff your pillow.
Or maybe you'd like to stretch your legs,
And then snuggle into your comforter nice and tight.
Whatever makes you feel cozy,
Is fine,
And should be done now.
If you haven't already,
You should now close your eyes,
And take a deep breath in,
And out.
And another deep breath in,
And out.
Then allow your breath to settle into a normal rhythm,
Not forcing it to go one way or another.
Today we're going to be doing a Metta meditation,
Otherwise known as a loving kindness meditation.
In it,
We'll be cultivating the feeling of love and appreciation for an individual of your choosing.
Be it someone from your past,
Or present,
Someone who's still alive,
Or someone who's past.
As long as you love this person,
And they love you back,
Then they'll be perfect for this session.
So spend a few moments now searching through your memory banks,
And settle on someone that you'd like to be the object of this Metta meditation.
It could be your mother,
Or father,
Or perhaps your wife or husband,
Or maybe just a friend.
Be it someone from your past,
Or present,
Someone who's past.
With your chosen person now in mind,
I want you to visualize them in front of you,
Sending you their love.
I want you to imagine them wishing for your well-being,
For your happiness and safety.
And as you imagine them doing this,
Receive what they're sending.
Be an open conduit.
Feel the warm wishes and love that this person is directing towards you.
Be it someone from your past,
Or present,
Someone who's past.
Be it someone from your past.
And as you receive this love,
I now want you to begin reciprocating it.
Continue visualizing the same person,
And repeat the following mantra in your mind.
May you live with ease.
May you be happy.
May you be free from pain.
And again,
May you live with ease.
May you be happy.
May you be free from pain.
And once more,
May you live with ease.
May you be happy.
May you be free from pain.
Continue repeating this mantra in your mind now,
All the while embodying the energy behind the words.
May you be free.
May you be free.
Now,
Let's take a moment to remember how similar you and the person you're sending love to are.
This person,
Just like you,
Wishes to be happy,
And wishes to be loved.
Feel into this,
And as you do,
Continue sending your love and warm wishes.
To help this process along,
Let's now repeat the second mantra.
May you be safe.
May you be healthy.
May you live with ease and happiness.
Remember you don't have to say this out loud,
Just repeat it to yourself in your mind.
May you be safe.
May you be healthy.
May you live with ease and happiness.
And once more,
May you be safe.
May you be healthy.
May you live with ease and happiness.
Continue repeating this mantra in your mind now,
All the while embodying the energy behind the words.
May you be safe.
May you be healthy.
And now,
A third and final mantra.
With your person of choice still vivid in your mind's eye,
I want you to conjure up as much love as you can for them,
All the while,
In your mind,
Repeating the following mantra.
May your life be filled with happiness,
Health,
And well-being.
May your life be filled with happiness,
Health,
And well-being.
May your life be filled with happiness,
Health,
And well-being.
May your life be filled with happiness,
Health,
And well-being.
May your life be filled with happiness,
Health,
And well-being.
You are now in a supremely relaxed state,
Either sleeping or on the edge of sleeping,
And so we're ready to begin,
Incubating a lucid dream for later on in the night.
By following along with my words,
And visualizing them as you go,
You'll prime yourself to draw upon these very same images during RAM.
There's no need to follow along strictly,
Just continue relaxing,
And allow my words to wash over you.
Whatever images come,
Come,
And even if you're now asleep,
Know that your subconscious will soak these words in and store them for later.
So,
Let's begin.
You come to on a small paddle boat out at sea,
And are immediately struck by a strong sense of déjà vu.
I've been here before,
You think,
Not quite able to put your finger on when or where.
You try to orientate yourself,
Looking around the scene,
Taking in the calm sea and starry night sky.
Your paddle is long but your boat is small.
You yourself are small too.
I'll remember in time,
You think,
Giving in to the disorientation and starting to paddle again.
The water stretches out as far as the eyes can see,
But nonetheless you head towards the horizon with purpose and drive.
Back UP!
After a minute or two of paddling,
You're stopped in your tracks by a great apparition.
The sky bursts into vivid shades of blue and purple,
And out of the light emerges a wrecked ship.
It's bewildering in scope and you feel humbled as the mass comes up on you,
Dwarfing your tiny boat.
What is that thing,
You wonder,
Looking closely at it?
It doesn't seem solid.
In fact,
When you look closely enough,
You can see right through it.
A ghost ship,
You think.
It's a ghost ship.
You begin paddling again to get closer to it.
What rather be?
You're now right up on the ghost ship,
And it's at this point that lucidity starts bubbling up from the vast ocean below.
Up until now,
You hadn't questioned this ghost ship too much,
But now you're this close to it.
Some rationality kicks in.
This is impossible,
You think.
It shimmers in a way that looks otherworldly to you,
And as you reach out to touch it,
Your hand passes right through.
This has to be a dream,
You say out loud to the dreamscape,
And so you perform the nosepinch reality check to confirm your suspicions.
But just as quickly as lucidity comes,
The scene around you dissolves,
And moments later,
You re-emerge in what you can only describe as the interior of the ship,
But now it seems solid.
You get straight to grounding the scene,
Reminding yourself that you're dreaming as you do,
And running your hands up and down the walls to engage your senses.
1 2 You're now deep within the confines of the Go-Ship,
Exploring.
You don't have a great purpose behind your movements as of yet,
But inspiration starts to build as you go from room to room.
I want you to show me an object from my past,
You say out loud to the dreamscape.
I want you to show me something meaningful.
And so,
With that intent firmly secured in your mind,
You continue exploring the ship,
And you tell yourself that,
In one of the upcoming rooms,
The object will be waiting for you.
Roger.
Finally,
You come across the room.
The room that's housing your object.
At least that's what you surmise because as you open the door you see a grand desk situated at the back wall,
And an exquisite chest sitting on top of it.
You approach the chest and once upon it you slowly open it,
Peering in.
Inside is an object from your very early childhood that you'd completely forgotten about.
It meant so much to you back then.
It was your everything.
But within the intervening years you'd forgotten about it.
How could I have let you slip my mind?
You ask,
Picking up the object delicately.
You feel a deep sense of nostalgia wash over you.
How could something so precious have been buried so deep?
Your eyes well up as you take in the object.
Feeling it.
Smelling it.
Remembering it.
And so you make a pledge to yourself.
Upon awakening you'll seek this object out.
Either the original or a replica.
To make it manifest in waking life once more.
To create a bridge between the worlds.
Dreaming and awake.
You have now successfully planted the seeds for a lucid dream later on in the night.
And have primed yourself to recognise it as such when it occurs.
You're now also in a state of supreme relaxation.
Fully at ease.
Either sleeping or just now ready to begin the first phase of sleeping.
And so,
With that,
I draw this session to a close.
Remember,
You are a lucid dreamer.
Happy dreaming.
