Snuggle under your blankets and close your eyes gently.

Are you ready?
Take a slow deep breath in through your nose and now let it out softly through your mouth.
Perfect.
Let's do that again together.
Breathing in through our nose,
All calm and quiet.
Now we're breathing out any worries we've had today.
Off they go.
One more time.
A deep breath in through your nose and a gentle sigh out.
Just perfect.
You're safe right now where you are.
Feeling calm and ready for tonight's adventure.
So tonight we're going to join two very special dogs,
Our friends Tinker and Davey.
They're going on a magical adventure that begins with a very secret cat door.
Tinker was a small scruffy dog with ears that stood tall and proud.
Davey was a little bit bigger than Tinker with soft fur and floppy ears and a happy wagging tail.
They both lived in a cosy house with their humans and two cats named Poppy and Molly.
Poppy was the largest cat you could imagine.
So big that the family had to fit an extra large cat door just so she could come and go easily.
But you see,
That's where the magic began.
The humans didn't know this,
But whilst they were fast asleep late at night,
The cat door wasn't just an ordinary cat door anymore.
It became a magical portal.
And it was just big enough for Tinker and Davey to squeeze through side by side into a world of wonder and adventure.
Through the magical portal.
One night,
When the moon was high,
Tinker's ears gave a little twitch.
Davey,
She whispered,
Shall we go?
Davey wagged his tail,
And together they padded softly through the cat door.
As they stepped through the air shimmered like starlight.
The garden on the other side of the cat door,
Well,
It looked the same,
But it also looked different.
The grass was glowing.
And the flowers,
Well,
They were sparkling.
The whole garden seemed to hum with a soft,
Magical sound.
Can you imagine being in a garden like this?
Take a deep breath in now,
And imagine the sweet,
Sparkling air.
And now let that breath out slowly,
Feeling calm and safe and slightly more magical.
You see,
In this garden,
The roses that the humans had planted shone with a gentle pink light.
The daisies that popped up on the lawn twinkled like golden stars.
And the lavender glowed purple,
Filling the night with its sweetest and dreamiest smell.
Tinker sniffed the lavender,
And her body instantly fell calm.
Davey stretched happily and let out a soft yawn.
And together they padded further into the magical garden.
From the glowing flowers,
Butterflies with their shining wings floated into the air.
Their voices were as soft as the wind in the trees.
Follow us,
The butterflies whispered kindly.
So Tinker and Davey followed,
Paw by paw,
Their tails wagging slowly as they walked.
They passed the twinkling daisies,
The glowing roses,
And arrived in the middle of the garden where the grass was as soft as a pillow.
Here,
Tiny little fireflies danced in the air,
Blinking their lights in slow,
Gentle,
Pleasant patterns.
Hearts,
Moons,
Even little paw prints.
Take a deep breath in,
And now slowly let it go as the fireflies blink around you.
Tinker and Davey looked up at the night sky and saw that the silver moon grew brighter and brighter as it watched kindly over the garden.
A beam of moonlight stretched down,
Wrapping Tinker and Davey in a warm glow.
Davey came a soft,
Gentle voice.
You are safe.
You are loved.
You are calm.
This is your special place,
And you may return whenever you need peace.
The two dogs curled up on the grass side by side.
Their bodies grew heavy,
And their breathing slowed.
They took a deep breath in,
And let us out feeling all calm and relaxed.
The butterflies fluttered around them,
And the fireflies blinked softly like little bedtime lights.
The flowers whispered,
Rest now.
The grass sighed,
Sleep now.
And the moon sang,
You are safe.
Tinker snuggled close to Davey.
Davey rested his chin on his paws,
And together they drifted into the most peaceful sleep,
Dreaming of glowing lanterns,
Fluttering butterflies,
And secret portals.
And now,
My little friend,
Just like Tinker and Davey,
It's your turn to rest.
So take one last deep breath in,
And let it out slowly.
Feel that your body is heavy and cosy.
Feel your breath soft and steady.
You are safe.
You are loved.
And you can drift peacefully into your dreams.
