The angels never cease to amaze me.
Even though I've been working with them for so long,
I'm never surprised at how profound they show up in my life and the lives of those that are around me.
I had just been finishing up at the office with clients for the day.
I logged into Facebook as I was waiting for a message from somebody.
As I logged in,
I'm sitting there and kind of just cleaning up some stuff.
A lady that I knew that I hadn't heard from a while had reached out to me and told me that a friend,
A mentor,
And colleague of ours was in hospice.
She thought that I should know.
If I wanted to go see her,
She would share the information with me.
As I was responding to her message,
Another friend of mine sent me another message that was exactly the same as the one that I was responding to.
I just looked at it and I said,
Wow.
So I knew that I needed to go to hospice to visit my friend,
But there were some reservations at first.
My first thought was,
Oh,
I'll go Monday.
Then I stopped and I thought about it and I'm like,
No,
I need to go today.
I always ask God if there's something I'm supposed to do,
Say,
Be,
Or have,
Tell me twice.
Sometimes I'll see double numbers.
Sometimes somebody will say to me,
Gladys,
Have you read this book?
And then it's happened where within a couple of days somebody else mentioned,
Hey,
Gladys,
Have you read this book?
So that's kind of been my pathway with the universe as to if there's something that I'm not hearing,
This has kind of been their way to get my attention.
So I'm looking at these two messages and my first thought was,
I don't want to go.
And it's not that I didn't want to go visit my friend.
It was quite shocking that she was in hospice.
Now she had been battling cancer for quite some time.
I was unaware that she had gotten this sick and it was a shock.
But when I thought about it,
I realized it wasn't that I didn't want to go see her.
It was I was afraid.
And you'd think somebody like me who works with the afterlife for a living,
That I would be comfortable with it.
And to be honest,
When you're in that position,
I always say nothing in life prepares you for death,
Especially if it's something sudden or even if it's something that's been long and gradual.
And so I remember just making up all the excuses.
I'm tired.
I don't feel like I don't I don't I'm tired.
I don't feel good.
You know,
I've got a headache and I'm thinking about all these excuses why I shouldn't go.
But I knew deep down in my heart that looking at those two messages,
I needed to go right away.
So I got in my car with the intention of going home.
And I drove to the hospice center.
And I sat in the parking lot for a couple minutes.
And I just sat there and asked God for help.
I asked God for strength.
I was not sure what I was going to see when I walked in there.
I wasn't sure.
You know what to expect.
I didn't even know how to act or be.
And I was nervous because I hadn't seen her in a long time.
So I asked God and I have to say this is a woman who knew a lot of people.
And one of my concerns was because I was so tired,
Going into a room with all those people could have been very draining for me.
And really when I think about it,
The root is putting all the excuses aside,
I was afraid.
And I asked God to surround me and fill me up with his beautiful light.
I asked him to radiate out that beauty and that joy to help me be whatever my friend needed in that moment.
So I went and checked in and I went upstairs and I walked in the room and it was so quiet and it was so peaceful.
And her daughter was in the room.
I went and gave her a hug and I just asked how she was doing.
And I just asked what the expectations were and nobody really knew.
It was really up to my friend's soul to decide.
And I looked at her.
And this woman was the epitome of caregiver.
She did everything for everybody else.
She was a woman who believed in me before I believed in myself.
And it seemed to be like a common story that she saw something in people and she lift us up and it was so beautiful to be able to be there for her and give back in the most loving beautiful way that she gave to us.
And so I was,
Me and her daughter were the only ones that were there.
And so I went around behind her and I sat in a chair that was behind her and I put my hands on her and it was almost like comforting a child.
You know,
Here was this woman who was the mother to all of us.
And I sat there compelled to just hold her,
To put my hands on her and to comfort her and really just send her love.
I asked the angels in that moment to surround and protect her.
I had heard that she had mentioned a couple days earlier that she was afraid.
And you know,
This is a woman that walked in the light.
This is a woman who had a metaphysical shop,
A bookstore,
And she gathered people together.
A lot of the people I know today is because I met in her shop,
In her place.
And I'm sitting there and I'm asking the angels to surround and protect her.
I'm asking them to comfort her and to ease her fears and her worries so that however long it took for her to transition that she would be comfortable.
And I just sat there for what could have been five,
10,
15,
20 minutes.
And I just sent her love.
And I noticed that,
You know,
I wasn't afraid.
I was compelled to just love her and really give her back the energy that she had given me and so many for so long.
And so shortly after I did that,
I had taken,
You know,
Another seat and this woman walks in.
I didn't know who this woman was and she was carrying a bag that had this green cloth mass in it.
And she's coming in and she's happy.
She's going over to my friend and she's rubbing her face and she's grabbing her hand.
And I thought it was very beautiful because I didn't know.
I didn't know what I could and couldn't do.
And she was just so loving and gentle to my friend as my friend was pretty heavily sedated and she was sleeping very deeply and peacefully.
And so what she did,
This woman,
She goes and she pulls out this what she called a prayer blanket.
And this prayer blanket had this beautiful crocheted pattern and so what she did was she was telling us how this is a prayer blanket and she uses it for her patients at the hospital she works at.
She opens up this prayer shawl and it was literally in the shape of wings.
It was this beautiful green color.
Basically the green that I would have seen as Archangel Raphael,
Of course the angel of healing.
So she opens this prayer blanket or this prayer cloth and she goes,
Look,
It's wings.
And now this woman didn't know that I work with angels for a living and I share angels messages and I just thought how profound that I had just finished asking the angels to surround her and protect her and give her love.
And this woman walks in with this prayer shawl or this prayer blanket that was exactly in the shape of wings.
And this woman,
I watched her so lovingly open them up and she took that blanket and she wrapped it around my friend and she goes,
Here,
Now you're wrapped in the angels wings.
And I just sat there stunned and I just thought,
God,
You are so good.
You are so beautiful.
And she was telling my friend,
The angels are here,
The angels are with you.
And there was just so much validation for what I had just asked.
And so,
You know,
So I asked her if it was all right if I,
You know,
Held,
You know,
My friend's hand and,
And we did.
Her friend held one hand.
I held the other and we just sat there and we just sent her love.
And one of my questions in my mind was,
Does she know I'm here?
Will she,
Will she remember,
You know,
I hope that she knows that at this time that I came to be by her bedside and,
You know,
One of my thoughts was,
I hope she,
She knows like how much I love her.
How much I love what she's offered me,
You know,
Through my journey on,
On my path.
And at one point she did wake up and she looked at her friend and her,
She said to her,
Her friend said to her,
Hey,
She goes,
Gladys is here.
And my friend turned her face,
Looked at me and she gave me the biggest,
Biggest smile.
It was so genuine and so beautiful.
And then she closed her eyes and she went back to sleep and I thought,
My goodness,
She's still giving me gifts here in her last,
Last days of life.
She's still gifting me and us this beautiful gift of,
Of watching how peaceful transition can really be.
You know,
And it was in that moment that I realized that it doesn't matter the clothes you have,
The,
The money that you have in the bank,
The people that you know,
The knowledge and information that you have.
And it's one of those things that we know this,
You know,
They say,
Oh,
You can't take it with you.
But in that moment I truly got it as me and her friend and her daughter sat there and just talked about how much she gave to us and how much she offered through her,
Just her heart,
Heart and her loving words of wisdom.
And I sat there and I was like,
How beautiful is this?
How beautiful that she can leave this world.
And there will be so many beautiful people sharing stories about how she made them feel.
And that's what,
That's what,
You know,
Shifted a lot for me.
You know,
I thanked her for all that she had given to this world.
I,
I wished her well on her journey.
I did ask her to come find me when she got to the other side.
And and I just kept telling her how much I loved her.
I sat there for three hours and prayed and loved on her.
And when she woke up and she was afraid we were right there by her side,
Comforting her and and loving her so that she didn't have to feel afraid and feel alone.
And,
You know,
I just,
You know,
Looked at looked at the whole experience as what a blessing,
What a gift to to see how somebody in their last days could be so peaceful.
You know,
She had people coming in and out of her room.
And I have to say the place that she was in was wonderful.
Her grandchildren came in.
The dog came in the room.
And I just heard that she passed away this morning.
So I'm recording this on March 28th and it will be released on March 29th.
And I found out this morning she passed peacefully.
And I prayed for her to to go peacefully.
And there were so many of us sending her love and and peace and comfort.
And the beautiful thing is I invited the Archangel Azriel in.
So as I'm reminded of the Archangel Raphael with the emerald green prayer shawl,
I'm also reminded to share about the Archangel Azriel.
So Azriel is the angel that,
You know,
If you did some research on him,
They would call him the angel of death.
And he is one of the most gentlest,
Sweetest angels.
He's very kind.
He's very loving and patient.
And I know he was sitting with her.
Another another coincidence that that happened while we were in the room was I when I had asked if she knew I was there.
And she opened up her eyes and she smiled at me.
What happened was a CNA had come in because they wanted to just make her a little more comfortable.
And he was waiting for his other friend CNA to come down to help him.
And he comes in the room and we're getting ready to leave so they can so they can help her.
And then the CNA called out to the other CNA.
And I thought I heard him call her Gladys.
And so I looked at her and I said,
What's your name?
And she said,
Gladys.
And now being a Gladys,
We know that we never come across any other Gladys is I mean,
When I was in high school or when I was younger,
I would have given anything to be a Jessica or Lori or Debbie.
And so I never had that feeling of meeting somebody that had the same name.
And I kind of laughed.
I'm like,
God,
She's still doing it these coincidences.
And so my grandmother is a Gladys.
And I felt like she was in the room as well.
Comforting comforting my friend.
And so I looked at the CNA said,
Hi,
Gladys,
My name is Gladys.
And she laughed.
And she said,
Well,
She's like,
It's so nice to meet another Gladys.
And I just thought it was a beautiful coincidence.
Now,
What are the odds?
Asking the angels for assistance for my friend,
And this woman comes in with this prayer shawl that opens up in the shape of wings.
And then I'm asking if my friend knew I was there or if it was something that she could feel my energy.
And of course,
She opens her eyes just long enough to see me and give me this beautiful,
This beautiful smile.
And then to take it even further,
Another Gladys comes in the room.
And I,
I just I just thought,
God,
You know,
You're so good.
And it was such a beautiful experience.
I was able to,
Like I said,
Spend about three hours with her sitting,
Praying,
Talking to the people in the room.
At some point,
A couple other women came in to see her.
And again,
All they talked about was how wonderful my friend made them feel.
And I just again,
Paused and I said,
Wow,
I said,
You know,
That's what I want to do for my life,
I want to be able to leave something behind where people know that I made them feel feel good,
That,
That,
That I was serving a purpose in some way.
And I thought,
God,
What a beautiful way to,
To cross over.
So,
You know,
As I mentioned,
She passed this morning,
And she is getting,
I'm sure all that loving energy for for the life that she lived.
And I wanted to share the story today because it's it's amazing when you're open and you're aware how God and the angels come into your life and how they ease you in scary times and happy times and times of confusion and of sadness.
And I was feeling all the emotions and,
And I have to say they stepped up immediately.
And so you know,
Death isn't something that we are always prepared for understand.
Like I said,
You know,
I work with the afterlife for a living.
But the spirit that I connect with is on the other side,
I don't have a lot of experience with the transition.
But it also made me realize that and understand that death doesn't have to be scary.
It doesn't have to be chaotic and tumultuous and,
And fanatical.
And I think sometimes,
You know,
We can fall into that with any type of ending.
So you know,
Even endings in our lives,
It doesn't have to be the final ending,
But even things coming to completion,
I feel like I have so much more peace with being able to release and accept the ending of things and being able to move forward.
And again,
What a gift that she gave me to show me that death doesn't have to be scary.
And I thank God so much.
And I think her soul so much for offering me that gift so that I can now take it and I can share that beauty with you,
You know,
So so if you know somebody who's transitioning or this is something that you know,
You're you're afraid of or you've got to go visit somebody,
You know,
Know that you can call in and God and the angels and and he'll be there right for you.
And the beautiful thing was that I had plenty of time with her.
I'm sure at some points the room got chaotic.
I'm sure she had lots of visitors in her last days.
But I was able to get some very special moments,
Some very sacred moments that I will hold forever and I'm so appreciative.
And I'm so grateful.
And again,
I look back at it as what a gift to be able to understand transition and endings and completion.
You know,
I have a tendency of of waiting too long to let things go or to release them or to move on or move forward.
And she taught me that that you can say that you're afraid.
You know,
I think her,
You know,
People's expectation of her is because she lived a life of service,
Working with spirit and angels and helping people connect.
I feel like she could have easily fall into that trap of needing to hold that facade like she was all right,
All knowing.
But for her to be able to acknowledge that she was afraid,
It made her human and it made her open up and vulnerable to receive love on so much of a higher level than if she didn't express her true feelings.
So again,
You know,
Putting the ego aside,
She really opened up and it really allowed so many of us to see her in her vulnerability,
Which is really this beautiful,
Feminine energy and for us to nurture her and love her and send her peace and send her prayers.
And she had a beautiful transition.
So I wanted to share that story with you today because I know a lot is happening in the world and there's lots of transitions and there's lots of endings.
And I encourage you when when you're upon a transition or you're upon an ending,
Sit with it,
Sit with it and find the beauty,
Find the miracles,
Find the magics,
Find the signs in the moment.
And I promise you,
Your heart will open 10 times over.
