Welcome to this contemplation on sudden change.
This is connected to the transmission from the I Ching,
Known as thunder.
Or the ground breaker and it's connected to hexagram number 51.
In order to receive this wisdom and to hear your own inner guidance,
Please take yourself into a comfortable position.
Make sure that you're hydrated.
And then as you relax the body,
Focus on your exhalations.
As you exhale,
Intentionally relax the body a little bit more.
And then repeat and intentionally exhale distractions.
And as you repeat this again,
Let the exhale now quieten the mind.
Bringing ease into your face,
Your hands and your feet.
And start to connect with the sense of quietness within.
Now we are going to set an intention together.
Please begin by connecting with your heart center,
Dropping your awareness into the center of your heart.
As you breathe in here you may also want to place your hands over your heart.
And then if you can repeat with me either aloud or internally.
I trust the wisdom I am receiving from this ancient teaching together with my own inner guidance.
Is aligned with my highest good.
And for the greater good of all.
Breathe into that.
And as you exhale,
Reaffirm it with the words.
I trust.
Now once more return your focus to a sense of quietness,
Of relaxation.
And let go of any and all expectations.
Simply be present.
And as you listen to this message,
Trust your own responses.
There may be parts that feel deeply aligned with you and then there may be others that don't.
So set the intention to remember what you need to remember and to connect only with that which you know is speaking directly to you.
This teaching from hexagram 51 of the I Ching comes into our lives when things are being shaken up.
Or perhaps when they need to be shaken up.
So this could be happening externally within your environment.
In other words,
Something that's happening to you.
But it can also be that you are the one being called to shake things up.
Such powerful movement in one's life.
Naturally brings change,
And this is necessary type of change.
It may be something that has been lingering for a long time,
Something you've known needs to change,
Or it may arrive quite unexpectedly.
We see this message through the amplification of the element of thunder and the yin-yang language expressed within this hexagram.
Because here the element of thunder appears twice.
One above the other.
So just imagine standing out in nature during a thunderstorm that feels as though there is thunder within thunder.
What power that has,
The way it moves the ground beneath your feet.
And of course that can be quite unsettling.
And if we're not expecting it.
Can be quite shocking.
So these are all possible experiences,
Remembering,
Of course,
That every person's journey is unique.
So what do we do when thunder enters our lives and great change is taking place?
What do we do when we find ourselves stunned,
Uncertain,
Or even fearful?
The itching reminds us to be like the mountain.
To remain quiet and still.
In other words,
Do not react.
Rather Pause.
Before responding.
We find the elements of mountain as one of the inner trigrams.
Together with water.
And water is a messenger to be cautious,
To move with awareness rather than haste.
So whatever change is taking place within you or around you,
Treat carefully.
Be calm,
Be clear.
And take your time wherever and whenever you need to.
Some words directly from the I Ching say Win the movements like a crash of thunder.
Terrifies all within a hundred miles.
One will be like the sincere worshipper who is not startled into letting go of his ladle and cup of sacrificial spirits.
In other words,
Even in the midst of great upheaval,
Remain centered.
And stay connected to what is sacred.
Continue to hold steady to what truly matters.
The only thing to fear in a fearful situation is fear itself.
Your growth and development depend upon learning this and taking it deeply to heart.
Cease the eating.
It also invites us to cultivate our virtue.
To examine what needs to change within.
To look honestly at inner values,
Motives,
Conduct.
And then.
.
.
To correct the faults and weaknesses that are discovered.
So of course,
This is not about judgment.
It's rather about deepening self-awareness and allowing one's life to come into greater alignment with truth.
So where is thunder taking place in your life right now?
Where is a great change unfolding?
Where is there much movement?
Or perhaps where do you know that change needs to happen and happen now?
If you feel that you're needing support during this time.
Consider where you might receive such guidance.
Do you trust the guidance that already lives within you?
Can you become quiet within yourself?
And ask for wisdom.
Can you trust yourself enough to act upon what you receive?
Or do you feel drawn to reaching out to somebody else?
Even then it may first be beneficial to become quiet.
Like the mountain.
Or sing.
And asking for confirmation regarding the person.
Or people you feel called to reach out to.
Allowing your inner wisdom to guide you along your next step.
So even though this may be an uncomfortable time,
The I Ching is very clear in its teaching that this movement is necessary.
For from this great stirring,
Beautiful new life can emerge.
It is akin to the transformation that takes place in springtime.
Beneath the surface of the ground,
There is immense movement.
Long before anything can be seen.
And then almost suddenly these tender green shoots break through the soil.
Or buds on trees begin to open.
And all of that visible beauty is born from an unseen process of profound change.
In the same way,
Keep trusting the wisdom within this groundbreaking,
Thunderous experience.
Allowing yourself to relax.
Into this time of great change.
Let's take a few gentle breaths now.
And just allow all you have received to settle.
Relax the body and soften wherever you can.
And whenever you find yourself feeling unsettled.
Please place one hand on the forehead,
Which helps to balance stresses of any kind,
Physical,
Mental,
Or emotional.
You can do this for as long as you need to.
Thank you for being here.
And may you be guided by your inner knowing.
Where you trust your own wisdom.
And may you trust the guidance that you have received here now,
Knowing that it is all unfolding exactly as it needs to.
